PAGE 2 ZIA GAZETTE Missions and Happenings... St. John’s United Methodist Church would like help from January 11th through the 17th in volunteering at the shelter. Please see Blaine or call St. John’s at 982-5397 and speak with Pastor Greg Kennedy. Bags for the homeless and the Hat and Mitten Tree are in the narthex of the church. The bags are available for anyone to carry in their car and give to the homeless. Our current batch were organized by Linda Palmer and Melanie Smith. They were our Bag Ladies for a few hours as they rounded up kids at church to sort groceries into bags and also to work on the Hat and Mi#en Tree. Thanks Linda and Melanie for heading up this most important ministry! We currently need someone to take hats and mi#ens and other items collected to various shelters and ministries. Harmonizers Sing Santa Fe Harmonizers, who prac(ce at Zia UMC, took the joy of Christmas to others by singing at various Re(rement homes in Santa Fe. PAGE 3 ZIA GAZETTE Missions and Happenings... The Advent Bible Study which ran for five weeks was led by Mary Hoggard and Pastor Blaine. It was well a#ended, li1ed the spirits of some, s(rred the intellectual curiosity of others, and provided meaningful contempla(on for the Christmas season as well as JOY. The Lunch Bunch December’s luncheon was held at Piccolino Italian Restaurant. The next luncheon location has not been chosen yet so suggest your favorite place to eat!
