NEWSLETTER Issue 7 Wednesday 17th December 2014 Message from Adrian Price, Principal - ‘It always seems impossible until it is done’ (Nelson Mandela) A year on from the passing of Nelson Mandela and these wise words still resonate. This has been a hugely important term in the life of Tenbury High. We have welcomed new staff, embarked upon a new partnership with Ormiston and continued our journey to outstanding and beyond. The achievement of our pupils is now above the national average, the quality of teaching is very good and I have utmost confidence that pupils are benefitting from all our efforts. The staff at THOA work incredibly hard and it is wonderful to see their work being rewarded and the school full of confidence. Well done everyone. At the same time as securing rapid school improvement we have remained the small, personable, inclusive and unique school of old. This has been so evident recently with our involvement in the Remembrance Day services and Mistletoe Festival. I was particularly pleased that so many pupils took part in the Christmas Truce performance and to see that every pupil in year 9 had a piece of Mistletoe art work on display in the town. I was delighted with the Mistletoe jewellery partnership work led by Miss Cartwright which involved some of our pupils working with St Michael’s pupils. A fabulous cross-curricular community project which ended with some fantastic jewellery which will be displayed in town. Well done to all those involved! I love Christmas in Tenbury. Thanks to everyone for the fantastic Christmas hampers. Thank you to the Tenbury Town Band for a wonderful Christmas performance last Saturday night! We have our Talent Show on Thursday and our superb THOA Carol Service is at St Mary’s Church on Friday at 2pm; please come and join us. I also hope to see some of you on Sunday evening at the St Mary’s Church Carol service. th Pupils start back to school on Tuesday 6 January which will be a normal school day. Thank you for your support. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope that 2015 is good to us all!
