ME311 - Machinery Failure Analysis and Troubleshooting
(14 - 18 December 2014, Dubai)
Course Description
Who Should attend?
This training presents understanding the process of equipment
failure, how to monitor and analyze it and how to prevent or mitigate such failures. Attendees will know how to keep the equipment in working condition avoiding costly break-downs and interruptions. Also, they will learn to find and fix problems much
before the break-down occurs and will know the safeguards and
checks that will keep problems from happening. This course
present a systematic approach to fault diagnosis and failure prevention in a broad range of machinery used in industries. Serious incidents in production, refining, and petrochemical facilities
have been initiated by what would have appeared otherwise as
in consequential failures and therefore not analyzed properly.
This course provides the fundamentals of PdM and condition
monitoring applicable to equipment and machinery at industrial
plants including petrochemical plants, manufacturing facilities,
or refineries.
Plant maintenance engineers, failure analysis and reliability professionals, equipment reliability specialists, inspection persons
and others who analyze equipment problems to find and fix their
root causes. The course will benefit anyone who wishes to update themselves on predictive maintenance, CBM and failure
analysis techniques and learn how to implement them for the
benefit of their organizations.
This course covers how to select suitable condition monitoring
techniques and plan out the predictive & scheduled Maintenance activities, carry out and failure analysis, implement troubleshooting program and how to measure the effectiveness of
these programs.
Course Objectives
Upon the successful completion of this course the participants
will:
n Know the root causes of machinery failures
n How to identify what equipment to monitor
n Learn how to analyze accidents, incidents, near-misses, and
failures
n Understand machine failure analysis and troubleshooting
techniques
n Learn about condition monitoring methods in pumps, centrifugal compressors, gas turbines and electric motors etc..
n Analysis for determining the primary causes of failure
n To avoid future failures by establishing corrective actions that
are based on the determined causes of failure
n Vibration analysis to detect, locate, assess and diagnose a
range of common faults
n Understand methodology of a PdM & condition monitoring
program
n Develop predictive maintenance program
