New Newsletter
The Missions and Ministry
Committee of Riverside Baptist
Church decided to improve
communication from the
committee to the rest of the
congregation. Thus was born
this newsletter called
“Windows of Opportunity. This
newsletter supplements the
Chimes and will appear at least
quarterly (or more frequent as
news appears.)
New Website
Riverside Baptist Church has a
new website, www.rbcjax.com .
The Missions and Ministry
Committee approved the
website design over three
meetings in December. New
features allow for frequent
updates of the Order of
Worship, the Chimes, and the
Church Calendar.
New Member
We welcome Bud Howell to
our congregation. Bud joined
us on Dec 14, 2014. He is a real
estate agent and a native of
Jacksonville. (pic on next
page)
Riverside Baptist Church
Brett R. Foster
Pastor Brett R. Foster was unanimously elected the new
pastor of Riverside Baptist Church December 21, 2015. Brett
earned a Doctor of Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary is
Washington DC, in 2007 and a Master of Divinity, Greek New
Testament from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in
Louisville, KY in 1998.
Previous experience has been chaplain an faculty of the
Episcopal School of Jacksonville 2013 to present and previous
Minister and Worship Leader for Hendricks Avenue Baptist
Church in Jacksonville from 1998 to 2012. At Hendricks, he was
instrumental in developing a successful youth ministry with
cross-cultural immersions to Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe,
Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia and Singapore.
Brett is married to Jenny Hubbard Foster for 20 years and has
three teenagers, (Adam 15, Isaac 13, Alexis 11). We are truly blessed
to have Dr. Foster with us.

The Cookie Exchange
was a wonderful success
and opportunity for
fellowship. All who
attended had only
glowing comments
about this new
tradition.
The Illuminaria was again a huge success this year. Members
came in the cold wet afternoon to fill and light 300 candles in
bags. Those who worked were Evelyn Alderman, Rufus
Dickinson, Bud Howell, Bill Jones, Gary Loyd, Elizabeth Martin,
Rick Morris, Alex Romero, Joe Wilson, and Kimi Wilson.
The church decorations were again first rate. The choir not only
decorated, but provided inspiring music programs throughout the
Christmas season. The children’s choir added much to the
services and their bright shining faces amplified their angelic
voices. Choir Practice is every Wednesday night at 7:30 PM.
