Trauma Junkie Series
Scene Size Up - What is it Really?
Course Description:
We simulate "scene safety and BSI!" in the classroom, but what does that really mean…? Do we truly
understand the process of creating a safer environment to work in?
The scene size up is the first step in both the medical and trauma assessments. It is a vital part of any call, and
a step that will assist in keeping you, your crew, and your patient safe. Yet, many times aspects of this process
are overlooked.
Join Drew Fried in discussing the steps of scene safety as well as the most common mechanisms of motion
injuries, and the best practices of scene safety.
This course may be applied toward Preparatory or General Elective CME hours under the NY State DOH EMS
