Williams Handmade Biography

Williams Handmade was founded by Sarah Williams who studied for BA(Hons) Design Craft
at Hereford Art College before going on to complete a Masters in Fashion Artefact at The
London College of Fashion, with a distinction and being awarded The Off-Catwalk Design
Award. Williams then went on to work as a designer and product developer at traditional
leather goods company Daines and Hathaway, as well as developing the brand Williams
Handmade.
Williams Handmade is based on producing the highest quality, unique leather goods using
traditional craftsmanship to fit the modern world. Williams Handmade has gained accolades
including Accessories Collection of the Year Award at ITS#NINE, The Accessory Award
from Absolut Vodka and chosen by Fashion East to show at London Fashion Week and
“Power of Craft” exhibition at the V and A. 2013 saw Williams British Handmade being
shortlisted for both the Ketel One Modern Craftsman Award as well as being selected by
Selfridges as one of their Bright Young Things.
For the past four seasons Williams Handmade has collaborated with Womenswear and
Jewellery label Kirsty Ward, bringing together the two distinct approaches to produce some
striking Womens Accessories.
