GlobalStar Hotel Collection 2014

GlobalStar Hotel Collection
2014
Prospectus
Introduction
Welcome to the 2014 GlobalStar Hotel Collection (GHC).
A dedicated hotel program specifically targeted to GlobalStar Travel
Management companies and their customers.
GHC is a collection of hotels carefully selected in key business and
international destinations to deliver value and benefits to our
partner agency network while driving compliance into the selected
hotels.
We hand select the hotels that we want to participate in our
program, and consider our partnership with our GlobalStar hotels
to be of utmost importance. It is through these valued partnerships
that GlobalStar can offer our travellers a value-added
comprehensive hotel program.
Invitation to Participate
As a carefully selected hotel that currently already receives volume from the GlobalStar members,
we would like to invite you to participate in an exclusive and unique marketing opportunity, targeted
to specifically help consolidate and direct hotel business from the GlobalStar Travel Network of
agencies into your hotel.
As a selected hotel within the GlobalStar Hotel Collection (GHC), you will enjoy booking priority
ahead of non GHC hotels. This opportunity applies to all unmanaged business, non-client contracted,
however even when there are client contracted rates, we recommend to the network to continue to
prioritise booking GHC represented hotels first, unless the client has defined a strict selling policy.
We believe that by having a smaller, defined program of exclusive hotels in key destinations we can
demonstrate increased value and commitment to those participating hotels.
Introducing GlobalStar Travel Management
GlobalStar is a worldwide travel management company owned and managed by local entrepreneurs.
Over 85 market leading enterprises, representing over US$13 billion in sales, combine their local
expertise, strength and commitment with our global organization to deliver cohesive, multinational
solutions through an innovative technology platform.
GlobalStar partners possess a deep commitment to personal service that begins with a hands-on
approach and is delivered to customers by experienced agents. Please visit our website for
additional information; www.globalstartravel.com
Our Organization
GlobalStar originated in 2001 as a partner network of independent Travel Management Companies
whereby dedicated officers at the partners ran the day to day business. Nowadays the GlobalStar
organization consists of a Global Executive Team and Regional Development Managers ensuring a
solid professional future for the GlobalStar organization.
The GlobalStar Executive Team is highly supported by the partners to work together on a global level
to provide overall strategy and direction. What makes our structure unique is the “Partner
Ownership Principle”, which is based on a common strategy and firm commitments but leaves the
decision-making power for all customer-relevant issues where it belongs
at the agency level, where the customer relationships are maintained and the services are provided.
Our Principle
The principle that we work on in GlobalStar is based on providing excellent culturally sensitive
services in each country while applying innovative technology and concepts to bring all elements of
our service delivery together at a global level. Rather than working with a static network of fixed
offices in fixed locations, the GlobalStar network is dynamic and flexible and can be adapted to
address our customer’s specific needs around the globe.
GlobalStar serves customers of all sizes, but offers special travel management benefits to growing
mid-size companies that demand a global reach and responsive service. At GlobalStar we strongly
feel that our concept of managing corporate customers across borders is most in line with today’s
market conditions. The position GlobalStar partners hold in their national markets ensures excellent
local presence.
Benefits
GlobalStar partners develop and share best practices while supporting an overall commitment to
innovative technology and customer service. Customers receive consistent service wherever they
travel, because partners are bound by a common code of conduct, technology standards, global
account management and service level agreements. By keeping in close contact with customers,
partners clearly understand their travel management needs and help achieve their objectives. This
long-term commitment to a highly collaborative, yet focused structure provides numerous
advantages to customers – including collective buying power of over US$13 billion, data
management, and consistent, excellent service.
GlobalStar Hotel Collection Program
Why Participate?
The GlobalStar network now produces and tracks consumed GDS hotel volumes in excess of 150,000
room nights and US$30 million in revenues each month. The 2013 annual forecast is estimated at
two million room nights and revenues of US$400 million based on new partner implementations.
Proven Results
Two years ago, GlobalStar appointed CCRA Travel Solutions as its exclusive Global, Consortia Hotel
Program provider.
GlobalStar Supplier Relations and CCRA’s management have worked extensively with the GlobalStar
network of agencies, starting with the management teams down to the agents, to emphasise the
benefits of directing business to the appropriate rate types and mandating
usage of the CCRA rate code in the GDS.
It is through this partnership that the GlobalStar Agencies and CCRA have achieved astounding
results with volumes continually growing monthly. Our Network listens and
makes it happen.
At the same time, GlobalStar implemented HotelStar, a proprietary branded online booking portal
powered by CCRA. GlobalStar can thus offer the GHC program to our agents through two
distribution channels, the GDS and HotelStar
The GlobalStar/CCRA partnership continues to gather strength and it is in conjunction with CCRA
that the 2014 GlobalStar Hotel Collection (GHC) will be developed as a subset of The Worldwide
Preferred Hotel Program by CCRA 2014.
What is the opportunity?
GlobalStar collects information on every hotel booking made from its partners via the GDS and
HotelStar. This information is centrally analysed and reviewed monthly. In particular extra attention
is given to the unmanaged business sector or the discretionary consortia rate types.
As an independent network, GlobalStar Travel Management Partners individually control and
manage their business. This strength allows each partner to retain their own customer base and
have the ability to direct their business. With a high percentage of customers in the small to medium
enterprises bracket and a strong midmarket multinational customer base in the US$20-$50 million
spending range, the GlobalStar agencies have a greater opportunity to consult and steer business.
For example there are far fewer customers with stringent hotel policies and complex compliance
measurements compared to a mega TMC.
This can be clearly demonstrated below when we look at the breakdown of the top discretionary
consortia rate types booked. Excluding the existing CCRA rate code business, there is a potential to
steer 60% of new discretionary business into the GlobalStar Hotel Collection program.
