Rajendra Kumar has stressed upon all the ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police to improve their proficiency and gain public confidence. Rajendra was addressing a Darbar of Officers and Jawans at District Police Lines (DPL) Srinagar today. He said that public service is the prime duty of JKP, reiterating that safety of human lives and public property has remained among top priorities of the force. He said that the force, despite facing tough challenges, has succeeded which is evident from the fact that a sense of security is prevailing among the public. He said, with the active cooperation of the people, the force has succeeded in DGP K. R 80 cr released to flood affected families in Srinagar district GJ REPORT SRINAGAR, JAN 10: To review the measures undertaken for the rehabilitation and financial assistance being made available to the flood affected families of district Srinagar, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar convened a meeting of Revenue officers here today. It was given out in the meeting that about R 80 crore has been released in favour of the flood affected families whose houses were damaged during the recent floods while R 2.19 crore has been provided to the families who are residing in the rented accommodations. He said that with the 11th legislative Assembly still being in existence till the 19th of January 2015, there was no question of 12th legislative Assembly coming into being. He said that Sec 52 of the state constitution (corresponding provision of the constitution of India is Article 83 (2) provides for duration of the legislative Assembly. It says that 'the legislative Assembly shall continue for six years from the date appointed for its first meeting if its term is not cut short by its dissolution. The DDC asked the concerned officers to ensure that all the arrangements are put in place well in time. Later, the DDC also chaired another meeting of the officers of various departments to review the arrangements for the celebration of National Voters Day on 25th of January. The arrangements being made by the different departments like Rural Development, Revenue, Education etc were discussed threadbare. The DDC directed all the officers pres- ent to work in coordination. The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner Vivek Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Inderjeet, ACR Sonu Pargal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Pardeep Manhas besides other district and sectoral officers of different Departments.
