Slathia, Sham envision big
win for alliance candidate
Excelsior Correspondent
VIJAYPUR, Apr 6: In a
joint campaign for the alliance
candidate, senior National
Conference and Congress leaders on Sunday exhorted the
people to discard negative
forces by giving a massive
mandate to secular parties,
which reflect real ethos of
Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a well attended
public meeting at Gurha
Slathian, MLA and former
Minister Surjeet Singh Slathia
assailed BJP and PDP for
scheming against the interests
of the people by furthering
their divisive agenda.
“By dividing people on
religious and communal lines,
these forces will not succeed in
pushing the State to frenzy”, he
said adding that the politically
sagacious people have always
given a befitting reply to negative forces. He referred to the
sinister game plan of PDP to
divide votes as per a secret
understanding with BJP. “The
people are sagacious enough to
see through their designs and
determined to vote them out in
the ensuing elections”, he
maintained.
Mr Slathia said the vote to
alliance candidate will be big
endorsement to the publicfriendly policies of National
Conference besides strengthening the hands of Dr Farooq
Abdullah and Chief Minister
Omar Abdullah.
Speaking on the occasion,
Minister for PHE and Flood
Control Sham Lal Sharma
exhorted the people to make a
conscious use of their vote and
be part in decision making at
the centre. He described the
ensuing
elections
battle
between communal and secular
forces and said that ultimately
reason will prevail.
The Minister asked the people to reject the negative forces
as they have done ever before
and facilitate the victory of the
alliance candidate in a big way.
Former Minister Babu
Rampal also addressed the
public meeting.

and progressive approach.

gatherings today at Pulwama,

and Nikhas in twin districts of
Shopian and Pulwama, Mir
said Congress played an
important role in the development and prosperity of entire
country in general and State of
Jammu and Kashmir in particular.
“Today people should
come out and strengthen the
roots of democracy in J&K
by participating in the Lok Sabha poll process and voting
for the National ConferenceCongress candidates fielded
in the six constituencies in the
State.
The Congress leader said
present elections were a direct
contest between secular and
communal ideology and people have to “decide which
future they want to choose for
themselves and for their next
generations”.
Maintaining that creation
of new administrative units,
hospitals, medical colleges
and anti-graft laws were some
of the landmark achievements
of the Coalition Government,
he radiated confidence that
the party will get massive
mandate in the upcoming Lok
Sabha polls.
Alleging that the State is
crisscrossing on the path of
normalcy and attempts being
made to derail this process, he
asked people to maintain unity
and not allow the situation to
take such a turn where hate
mongers have a field day to
vitiate the atmosphere.
The election rally was also
addressed by Mohammad
Anwar Bhat, vice-president,
JKPCC, Hilal Ahmad Shah,
organising secretary and other
leaders of the Party.

wider unity among the working

the young generation entering
the employment market is
increasing rapidly. The utter collapse of public distribution system, Commercialisation of education system has made life miserable for common people. The
prices of essential commodities

‘NC-Cong traders of Muslim voters’
Excelsior Correspondent
POONCH, Apr 6; Lashing
out at Congress & NC, BJP
leader Farooq Khan (Retd IGP)
today said that both the parties
are traders of Muslim voters
who just sell the sentiments of
Muslim community.
Addressing the series of
election rallies at Poonch,
Surankot, Thanamandi and
Barflian, the former IGP said
that
since
independence
Congress always exploited the
sentiments of Muslims for votes.
It never worked for the betterment, education and upliftment
of Muslim community in reality
that is why the Muslims are still
most backward community in
the State as well as in the country, he added.
He said due to the negligence
of political parties like Congress
and NC, the Muslims are impoverished. In urban and rural areas
alike Muslim youths are uneducated, unemployed, unskilled
and frustrated and hence they
are moving towards anti-social
activities.
Khan urged the Muslim
community to vote for BJP for
their betterment and play a
major role in the country's
development. He said that
Narendra Modi will ensure
peace, harmony and development back in the State. He further said if BJP comes in power,
then they will certainly work for
the Jammu-Poonch Railway
track, the Border Area land disputes and better Infrastructure in
the region, he added.
BJYM
State
president
Ravindra Raina, Satish Sassan,
Madhu and other senior BJP
leaders also addressed the rallies
and sought votes for BJP candidate Jugal Kishore Sharma.
Repair road in Harni Mendhar
This is regarding the hardships that the residents of village
Harni and adjoining villages of Ari face. We face difficulties due
to bad condition of roads that are full of potholes and cracks. The
road from Mendhar to Ari Harni Jaranwali Gali and other adjoining areas is in need of repairs. The road is totally deplorable to
travel on and shabby. It was blacktopped half a decade ago but
from that time no regular maintenance or patching has been done
which ultimately has resulted in its poor condition now. We want
to bring this genuine grievance to the attention of concerned officials of R&B Sub Division Mendhar kindly repair our road so
that we do not have to suffer anymore.

Construct Neera-Batta road
We want to draw the attention of the Ramban authorities
towards the problems faced by us due to absence of a road. There
is urgent need to construct a road from Neera upto Batta via
Kahori, New Basti Shovra, Gharshalli, Chakruvan and Slachi. The
road will connect all these villages which face many hardships.
The people of the area have been demanding construction of this
road since a long time, but no thing has been done so far. There is
also need to construct a link road from Gharshalli to Wasigharat
via Chakra and Ahdwah.
This road connectivity can benefit approx 3000-5000 souls.
Hope, the authorities will take the matter into consideration.

Repair Dayala Chack road
This is to draw the attention of the concerned authorities
towards the bad condition of Dayala Chack road. The road is full
of pot-holes and puddles, but nobody bothers to repair it. It may
be mentioned here that many accidents have taken place on this
road in which many people lost their lives.
Every year money is sanctioned for its repairs but the condition of road has never improved.
It is again requested that this busy road be repaired at the earliest to save people from nightmare.

Plea to DSE
This is to draw the attention of Director School Education,
Jammu that new academic session has started in schools. But in
Rajouri most of the teachers have been deputed on Board duty for
marking of papers. In some schools, there is only one teacher.
Teachers return in the month of May just before Summer vacation
begins. This affects the academic ambience of schools and students suffer terribly.
It is, therefore, requested to look into the matter at the earliest.

Bain-Baishty road in
deplorable condition
This is to draw the attention of the concerned authorities
towards the deplorable condition of Bain-Baishty road in Chenani
tehsil (Udhampur).
To make it traffic-worthy, it was brought under PMGSY
scheme sometime back. But the work on this road is so slow that
one does not know how much time it will take.
Presently, the people living here face in numerable hardships.
Most affected are school going children and patients.
It may be mentioned here that some pregnant women lost their
lives on the way to hospital, as they could not be shifted well in
time due to poor condition of road.

Bani Assembly segment in
Kathua District.

Anil Gupta apprised the people
about the party agenda and the
roadmap it has drawn for the
development of villages and
hilly regions of this constituency.
While interacting with the
people
Anil Gupta said,
“People have understood the
politics of deceit and betrayal by
the existing political groups
which are only misguiding the
masses. These parties have only
helped to make this State number one in the field of corruption
and exploited sentiments of people by their communal designs
and politics of separatism.
JKDF is the only party
which has been formed with the
objective to counter these dubious groups, who for their vested
interests are bent upon to harm
the social, cultural and religious
fabric of people of this State. We
are for equal development of all
the regions of State, Gupta
added.
“If given the mandate JKDF
shall raise these demands in
Parliament of country. Besides
various developmental issues
plight of VDCs, SPOs and Exservicemen of Armed forces
including Paramilitary forces
are the issues which JKDF shall
focus upon”.
We are receiving a over-
whelming response of people
wherever we go, as everybody
acknowledge the works done by
former Union Minister Prof
Chaman Lal Gupta from this
constituency, which he represented thrice. No other representative even remotely maintained
the pace of development, community
welfare
schemes,
employment avenues and providing secure environment as
Prof Gupta did during his
tenure.
“We are committed to
make J&K a model State free
of corruption, prosperous and
one of the developed region in
