October 2014 Dear Student, Congratulations! You have been selected for the 2015 All-County Division I East Music Festival. All of the information you need such as rehearsal times and directions are included in this packet, so please review it carefully. Our guest conductors are: Orchestra: Band: Chorus: Steven Fayette David Cerullo Eileen Benedict Please go over your music thoroughly with your teacher. Band and Orchestra students will be auditioned for seating at the first rehearsal. Music will be collected after the concert. IF YOU ARE UNPREPARED OR MISS ANY REHEARSAL OR ANY PART OF REHEARSAL. YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FESTIVAL. You are required to bring the following: Instrumental students: Vocal students: 1. Music stand labeled with name and district. 1. Music, pencil 2. Instrument labeled with name and district. 3. Music, pencil, extra strings, reeds, etc. Percussion players must bring SNARE DRUM, STICKS, MALLETS, and any other small percussion instruments that are assigned. CONCERT DRESS for all groups: Girls: Black skirt or pants, white blouse, black dress shoes Boys: Black pants, white shirt, long tie, black socks, black dress shoes The registration fee is $23.00. See your music teacher about this. Tickets, All-County T-shirts and “hoodies” may be purchased during the rehearsal breaks. Please be sure to have SEPARATE checks for tickets and clothing. Please note that no video, audio recording equipment or still cameras will be allowed at the rehearsals or the concert. CD’s, DVD’s and photographs may be ordered at the concert. POST COLLEGE, GREENVALE, NY Arrival Schedule: (Please arrive promptly) ORCHESTRA 3:00 PM Fishbowl BAND 3:15 PM Cinema MIXED CHORUS 3:30 PM Hillwood Recital Hall ARRIVAL PROCEDURE: Prior to the concert, all student performers should be dropped off at the Tilles Lobby. Teachers and Tilles staff members will be there to direct the students to the proper rehearsal sites. DISMISSAL PROCEDURE: Students will not be dismissed until the end of the concert. Please remain in your seats for the ENTIRE performance. The BAND students will be escorted to the outer lobby. The ORCHESTRA students will be escorted to the atrium. The CHORUS students will be escorted into the main auditorium. All students should exit the building through the Tilles Center Lobby. This procedure has been implemented to ensure the safety of your child. Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated. If you should have any questions or problems regarding arrival or dismissal procedures, please have your teacher contact the Chairperson of the performing group, or the Festival Coordinator. EMERGENCY SNOW NOTIFICATION In the event of a major snow storm that would affect any of the All-County rehearsals or concerts, alternate plans have been made. These plans vary, depending upon the rehearsal or concert that is affected. You can check our website at www.nmea.us for updated information. TICKET INFORMATION Tickets are $12.00 each. You may purchase ONLY THREE TICKETS INITIALLY. Please fill out pertinent information on the white envelope included with your student packet and enclose a check made payable to NMEA. (Please put your home phone number on the check). THESE ENVELOPES ARE TO BE MAILED TO THE CHAIRPERSON BY NOVEMBER 15th, Along with your commitment forms. If you would like more than the original 3 tickets, have your child bring in the colored envelope provided with separate $12 checks for each extra ticket requested to the last rehearsal. There are no guarantees that more than 1 extra ticket per child will be available at that rehearsal. No refunds will be given at any time. All seating is by general admission and tickets must be shown at the concert to get into the performance. T-SHIRTS & HOODIES All-County T-shirts will be on sale at the rehearsals and the concert for $10.00. “Hoodies” will be available for $30.00.
