ABOUT THE INSTITUTE Chief Patron : Sri P. Ganga Reddy President, EES, Warangal The elite philanthropists of Warangal City, with a noble aim of imparting quality technical education, established Kakatiya Institution of Technology & Science in Warangal city in the year 1980 under the aegis of Ekasila Education Society (EES). The college campus is spread over 65 acres of land which looks exquisite with greenery and assorted colorful blossoms. The institution is situated in the most congenial area for easy conveyance as it is convenient to reach it from Kazipet and Warangal by train and road as well. KITSW has manifested an impressive progress and today it offers 7 B.Tech programs and 7 PG programs. Six academic departments in the institution are recognized as the research centers by the Kakatiya University, Warangal to offer doctoral programs. 42 faculty members of different colleges have registered for PhD and are pursuing their research on diverse technical areas in the institution. The fest has successfully provided a platform for bringing the entire fraternity of students, academicians and industrialists together under one roof. The technical fest has spread its wings across various genres of technology and inspired creativity and innovation among students. It has envisioned changes and provided rightful solutions through its various thought provoking initiatives and pierce competitions. Also the fest has inspired the students and the industry in their endeavour to work for a better world to live in. The Department of Mechanical Engineering came into existence from the inception of the KITSW in the year 1980 and has been serving as a catering department to other disciplines. The Department is one of the largest departments in terms of faculty, students, and activities. It continues to lead and expand its activities in various directions. The department currently offers Undergraduate Program, Post Graduate Program in M.Tech Design Engineering and Ph.D program. The B.Tech (Mechanical-Engineering) course is accredited by NBA three times. The Department has a total of 26 qualified, experienced and committed faculty members and 10 of them are doctorates.
