All Fifth Grade Students Visit Orlando
Philharmonic
On November 4, 2014, all 5th Graders were treated to an
amazing concert by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra
at OCSA. The entire free trip was funded by United
Arts. The students really enjoyed the concert and many
thought that “Firebird Suite” by Stravinsky was their
favorite piece. The orchestra was joined by performers
from the Orlando Opera and the Orlando Ballet to make
the concert a once in a lifetime experience. The theme
of the concert was Nature in Music. The music students
studied the pieces before going to the concert. Would
you consider writing a thank you note to United Arts for
paying for the adventure? The address is

The path was also loaded with
enemies, but he was now
unstoppable because of his determination. But his first
challenge was a big one…Mech2.0!!!!! Mech2.0 was
very strong and even had a gun, but his magical
abilities were very weak. The battle was intense. That
gun was a problem. So Mech pencil nabbed it. Then he
used a spell to send his mind into the gun. As the gun
he shot his mind back into himself giving him a new
ally. Techmo! With Techmo’s help, they defeated Mech
2.0! But they had barely continued their path before a
greater foe crossed it… Frost Mech!!!

December is Bullying Awareness
Month!
In Osceola County Schools, student
behavior is defined as bullying if it
meets three criteria:
Many actions involve aggressive
behaviors, but not all are bullying.
This table shows the differences
between rough play, righting, and
bullying:
1. The behavior is unwanted, offensive,
threatening, insulting, humiliating, or interferes
with the individual’s school performance which
results in the victim feeling stressed, injured, or
threatened.
Rough Play: Usually Friends,
Often will do the same thing
again, Power not an immediate
issue, not about hurting, affect is
friendly, mutual
2. There must be an imbalance of power
between the victim and the aggressor.
Fighting: Usually not friends,
typically not repeated, power
close to equal, trying to hurt each
other, affect is negative, angry
3. The behavior must be repeated.
Types of Bullying:
Verbal Bullying
Physical Bullying
Social Bullying
Cyber Bullying
Don’t forget to check out the cover
page and see how you can dress up
each day of Bullying Prevention
Week!
Bullying: Not friends, behavior
is repeated, power is NOT equal,
bullying is trying to hurt or
humiliate, affect varies
