Covering the full gamut of styles, stories and techniques as animation often does best is the final
instalment of the International Animation Day festival in Brisbane for 2014. From the infectious thrill of
Spike’s first MUDCRAB catch, to the shocking down-on-her-luck modern take on THE LITTLE
MATCH GIRL story, from the austere SOOT to a fan’s tribute to motorsports in TELE-SOFIA., from
the physical violent comedy in JEBEDIAH’S TELEVISION to the gentle paced transformation of the
loveable GUIDA. This ‘Best Of’ collection of animated shorts will make you laugh, squirm, gasp and
think.

rooster but a resting prince below. Could this be her

Wadu Matyidi is set in pre-contact times of the early
1800s when Adnyamathanha children of the
Flinders Ranges were inspired, schooled and
entertained by their interactions with ‘country’. The
story has arisen from the generational stories of
Uncle Buck McKenzie and the imaginations of
students attending an Inhaadi Adnyamathanha
Ngwarla class.
