ABOUT SHIRUR SHIKSHAN PRASARAK MANDAL:
Shirur Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is a renowned educational organization
established in 1945 in the rural area near Pune. The main objective of the Shirur
Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is of spreading and promoting the education in all
disciplines of knowledge taking into consideration the manpower requirement of
the nation. During last 68 years, S.S.P.Mandal have spread its educational work
with full dedication in Pune and Ahmednagar Districts. Presently more than 25000
students from K.G. to P.G. and Ph.D are benefitted with various schools,
Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools, C.T.Bora Arts Commerce & Science
College, Shirur. To cater to the needs of changing days and requirement of the
society and nation at large, S.S.P. Mandal established Chandmal Tarachand Bora
College in 1968.
S.S.P.Mandal is organized by mainly well known Industrialists and Social
Workers. President Hon. Rasiklalji Manikchandji Dhariwal, and other eminent
members of the governing council have given shape to the educational activities of
the Mandal.
ABOUT C.T.BORA COLLEGE:
Chandmal Tarachand Bora Arts, Commerce and Science College, Shirur, affiliated
to the University of Pune was established in 1968 by Shirur Shikshan Prasarak
Mandal, a local educational trust, with the primary aim of providing quality higher
education. Today it is a leading educational institution under the University of
Pune offering Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in different faculties like
Arts, Science, Commerce, Mental Moral & Social Sciences apart from being a
Ph.D Research Centre in English, Hindi, Marathi & Environmental Science. The
college offers 48 courses in different subjects and is also a study centre of
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU).
The college provides excellent infrastructure and learning resources to achieve its
mission of quality education. It has a very good library, well equipped gymkhana,
Sophisticated Science laboratories and Computer Science Laboratories. The
college has several extension and outreach programmes which are integrated with
academic curricula. Many of our students have done well in different examinations
and are well placed in different walks of life.
The College has been Re-Accredited with Grade “A” by NAAC, Bangalore in
January 2013.
ABOUT THE COLLEGE LIBRARY & DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY &
INFORMATION SCIENCE:
The Chandmal Tarachand Bora College Library was established in 1968. Right
from its inception, it has become the “heart of the campus”. The library aims to
fulfill all kinds of educational, informational and recreational needs of the students,
teachers, researchers and other users by providing them with variety of services
and wide range of Books, Journals, Reference Books, Rare Books, Audio-Visual
aids and E-resources. The Library is a member of Jayakar Library (Savitribai Phule
Pune University), Gokhale Institute of Politics & Economics, INFLIBNETs NLIST and many other libraries of national & international repute.
The Department of Library & Information Science was established in 2007 and
offers University of Pune affiliated B.Lib-I.Sc (since 2007) and MLISc (since
2008) in English as well as Marathi medium. Initially it was the only centre
offering MLIS course in College Level in Pune District. The students score well in
the University examinations and are at present working as Librarians/Assistant
Librarians in Colleges/Institutions of Pune, Nashik, Ratnagiri and Mumbai.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE CITCL-2015:
The advent of Information Communication & Technology has revolutionized
library in various ways. Not only the Academic Libraries but the Research
Libraries, Special Libraries and Corporate Libraries have also changed the ways in
which they function and cater to the needs of user community. The impact of ICT
has introduced web based e-learning and teaching environment, digitization of
resources, IT enabled dissemination of services, Open Access, Cloud Computing
etc. The efficiency and effectiveness of ICT enabled services has created new
challenges to the traditional professional ethics of Library professionals.
Eminent Resource Persons of National and International Repute from Library &
Information Science will discuss Emerging digital technologies for Library
Services; Library Networking & Consortia; Digital library practices; Copyright &
IPR; and competencies to be developed by library professionals in electronic
environment.
Library & Information Science Students, LIS Professionals from Academic/
Research/ Special & Corporate Libraries, LIS Teachers, Researchers will be
benefitted from the Conference discussions.

Transition from Traditional Library to Digital Library.
D) COPYRIGHT AND IPR
IPR and Digital Environment, Open Access and Copyright Infringement,
Digital Rights Management, Digital Libraries and IPR, National &
International Scenario in Copyright Management, Institutional Repositories,
Copyright and Digital Archiving
E) PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & BEST PRACTICES:
Competencies to be developed by the New Age Library Professional;
Management of Library & Information Centres; Marketing of Library
Services; Best Practices developed and adopted.
Guidelines for Submission of Paper:
1. All manuscripts should be unpublished original work and should be submitted
with a covering by the author/s. The letter should clearly mention the
theme and sub-theme under which the paper falls.
2. Paper should be submitted in hard & softcopy. Hard copy paper should be
submitted along with registration fees & copyright form.
3. Paper should be submitted in MS Word (2003) or MS Word (2007) format only
and of maximum 3000 words. Abstracts should not be more than 200 words and
must be followed by keywords.
4. Follow the APA Style of Citation for all references.
5. Selected Papers will be published in the Conference Proceeding having
ISBN.

Participants are requested to register well in advance by sending duly filled
registration forms along with Demand Draft in favor of 'The Principal , C.T.Bora
College, Shirur', payable at Ghodnadi (Shirur). Spot registrations are also

ACCOMMODATION:
Accommodation will be arranged by College authorities in College Hostels and
nearby Hotels on prior intimation. Payment will be done by the Participant on
arrival during Conference.
HOW TO REACH SHIRUR:
Shirur (Dist.Pune) or as it is commonly known as Ghodnadi (Shirur), situated 68
kms from Pune in the Pune-Ahmednagar Highway is very well connected to all the
urban and rural places of Maharashtra through the excellent availability of
Maharashtra State Transport Buses. With the advantage of being located in the
highway, the place is also having good connectivity with out-station transport
buses. One of the Ashtavinayak Temples, Ranjangaon Mahaganpati is situated just
15 mins from Shirur. C.T.Bora College is situated on the Bypass road of PuneAhmednagar Highway.
For participants coming from outside Maharashtra1. Participants can reach Pune by flight or railway (till Pune Station) and then they
can board state transport buses to Shirur (from Shivajinagar ST Bus stand). The
buses are available right throughout the day with excellent frequency.
2. Participants may also reach Ahmednagar by Railway and then avail State
Transport Buses to reach Shirur. Ahmednagar is 50kms from Shirur.
** The Institution believes that Library & Information Science Professionals from
across the country will participate in large number in the National Conference and
will not let distances pay hindrance in their participation. We all expect an overwhelming response!!
