CONSENT AGENDA
1.
Consider authorizat ion and execution of Contract C464-2014 with Kaw Valley Electric
Cooperative, Inc. for relocation of facilities in conflict with the SW Glick Road Bridge over the
Wakarusa River project in an amount for the relocation not to exceed $3,141.93—Public
Works/Solid Waste.
2.
Consider authorizat ion and execution of Contract C465-2014 with Kaw Valley Electric
Cooperative, Inc. for relocation of facilities in conflict with the SW 77th Street Bridge over Middle
Branch to the Wakarusa River project with costs to Shawnee County if the conflict ing facility is
located within private easement owned by Kaw Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc.—Public
Works/Solid Waste.

Consider payment of invoices fro m the Diversion Fund account in a total amount of $5,094.09—
District Attorney.
4.
Consider approval of a b lanket authorization to pay monthly fees of $2,486.97 associated with
Westlaw by provider, West Thomson Reuters, the legal research provider—District Attorney.

Consider authorizat ion and execution of Contract C466-2014 with American Presort for mail
services—Audit Finance.

Acknowledge receipt of co rrespondence from KDHE regarding a permit renewal for the Shawnee

A. COUNTY CLERK – Cynthia Beck
1.
Consider all voucher payments.

Consider approval of request to contract with Minnesota Life Insurance Company for emp loyee
life insurance, sign the Group Term Life Policyholder Application, acco mpanying documents and
authorize the Chair to sign any subsequent documents related to this transaction.
B. KANSAS EXPOCENTRE – H. R. Cook
1.
Consider approval of request for capital expenditures in a total amount of $3,740.04 for the
following:
(a) Replacement of overhead door operator in livestock stall barn in an amount of $1,366.25.
(b) Replacement of one steel and one rubber hydraulic line on the New Holland LX565 skid steer
in an amount of $587.89.
(c) Replacement of a gas regulator valve to rooftop air handling unit for Ad ministrative Offices
in an amount of $937.48.
(d) Replacement of a centrifugal clutch on Land Pride Trekker in an amount of $848.42.
C. PARKS AND RECREATION – John Knight
1.
Consider authorizat ion and execution of Contract C467-2014 with Bob’s Janitorial, extension to
Contract C322-2013 for jan itorial services on a month-to-month basis at a cost of $12,362.28 per
month.

Consider approval of Resolution No. 2014-118 establishing the Shawnee County Parks and
Recreation Revenue Revolving Fund—Co mmissioner Archer.
D. PUBLIC WORKS/SOLID WASTE – Tom Vlach
1.
Consider approval of request to waive normal bidding procedures and purchase 972 95-gallon
trash containers from Rehrig-Pacific at a cost of $47,889.28 ($46,889-28 + $1,000.00 freight) and
to enter into a 5-year sole source purchasing agreement with Rehrig-Pacific.
E. COUNTY COUNSELOR – Rich Eckert

Consider authorizat ion and execution of Contract C468-2014 with Valeo Behavioral Health Care,
Inc. to provide mental health services to residents of Shawnee County for an amount of
$1,526,512.00.

Consider authorizat ion and execution of Contract C469-2014 with the Helping Hands Humane
Society to shelter, feed and to the extent necessary, dispose of stray dogs, cats, other small an imals
and dangerous animals at a cost of $116,199.00 presuming an average of 1,200 an imals.
