Buses from Coimbatore to University
There are 3 bus stands in Coimbatore.
1. Gandhipuram
2. Singanallur 3. Ukkadam
There is only one city bus A3 which will pass through the University campus. It starts from Gandhipuram Bus
Stand and travels via Rail way junction and Ukkadam Bus stand.
But, there are frequent Buses (96, 48, 48B, S2,3G) that will pass through Ettimadai Junction (or Ettimadai
Pirivu) in Coimbatore – Palakkad Road. University campus is just 2.5 kms from Ettimadai Junction. These Buses
start from Gandhipuram Bus stand (except 48 which starts from Ukkadam) and travel via Railway junction and
Ukkadam Bus Stand. Participants can have auto (Rs.50/-) to reach the campus from Ettimadai Junction.
Those who are reaching Coimbatore at Singanallur Bus stand can board a city bus to Ukkadam and can get the
city buses mentioned earlier. Those who are reaching Coimbatore by Omni Buses can come to Gandhipuram
Bus stand which is just 1.2 kms away.
Since frequency of A3 is minimum, we provide its timing for the convenience of participants. The other city
buses will be available every 30 minutes.

Train from Coimbatore Junction to University
For participants travel via Salem, Erode:
Those who reach Coimbatore by train (don’t get down at North Coimbatore) are requested to get down at
Coimbatore junction. They can get passenger trains (mentioned below) from Coimbatore junction up to
Ettimadai Station and can walk into University Campus(500 meters). The timings of different passenger trains
at Coimbatore Junction are:

Note 1: Participants can also avail city bus facility from Coimbatore Railway Junction. For this purpose, please
read the details about buses from Coimbatore to University.
Note 2: If we come to know more participants are arriving by the same train or around the same time, a
University Bus can be made available at the Coimbatore Junction. This information will be made available in
the website by 6th January 2015 after getting participants travel plan by e-mail.
For participants travel via Palakkad: Participants can have passenger trains from Palakkad also. The timings

Those who reach Coimbatore by Air can hire a taxi as mentioned earlier from Airport to reach Amrita
