THE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
We are now in the year 2015 so it is time for a one liner: May your happiness of today
be your sorrows of tomorrow. (Things will be better in the future)
Our family had a very enjoyable holiday experience camping out at Ranch Jurupa Park in
Riverside CA. It was great having our children and grand kids there to celebrate a family
tradition. Anne and I hope that you were able to spend time with friends and family over
the holidays. As we get older it is apparent that health, family and friends are what life is
all about. So enjoy your time, stop and smell the roses.
January is an exciting time for the club. The holidays and shopping for the perfect
presents are behind us. The first event for our club is the FMCA Area Rally held in Indio, CA. Several club
members have volunteered to support this annual event in the past and I am sure if they are able, they will be
there again this year. Time to look at our club calendar, and mark your home calendar to remind yourself of
upcoming events. Don’t forget some rallies have a limited amount of spaces, so first come, first served.
Also, if you have not done so, please pay your annual dues, and think about rallies that you could sponsor, or
positions in the club that you would like to be considered for.
The word on allowing former members who purchased SOB to rejoin our club is getting out. While in Chula
Vista recently I was made aware of two former members who are in the process of rejoining FMCA with the
intent to rejoin our club. It will be great to have them rejoin the Dolphin Family.

THE VICE-PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hello Fellow Dolphin Club Members
2015 has come, and with the low price of fuel, especially gasoline, this could be a heavy
travel year. We want to make sure that you all travel safely. One of the first things you
should check is your tires. You should start by checking the side walls. With RV tires,
usually the sidewalls wear out long before the tread does. This is often because of poor
maintenance, including maintaining proper inflation, keeping the tires clean without
using products containing alcohol, and keeping them covered to protect against U.V.
damage, as well as excessive loads.
This month we are going to take a look at proper inflation. It is important that inflation be checked when the
tires are cold and haven’t been driven at all. Tires heat up quickly when driven, and the temperature in hot
tires may be as much as 15 pounds per square inch (psi higher than cold tires. Make sure you use a quality
gauge to check pressure, one that will allow you to easily to check the inner rear tires. Also, you should
check with a professional or your coach’s manual for the proper pressure. The pressure on the tire may not
correctly reflect the proper inflation for your motorhome. Not all tires should carry the same pressure, but
all tires on the same axle must maintain the same pressure.
It is a great idea to invest in a quality tire pressure sensor system. This system incorporates valve covers with
sensors that measure the pressure and send that information to the panel in the coach. It will let you know if
the pressure is higher or lower than the pressure you specified. It also usually will send an alarm in the case
of a rapid reduction in tire pressure, as in the case of a blow-out. There are numerous systems on the market.
In the meantime, drive safe. See you somewhere on the road.

DOLPHIN CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
At the Happy Campers Christmas rally at Chula Vista RV Resort, there were
24 Dolphin Club Members at the rally. Dolphin Club Members Adrian & Brian
Forstmaier decorated with a 20 foot tree mounted on top of their flag pole above
their coach. It had a base diameter of 6 ft.
