Don’t wait for an emergency; register now! Welcome to SGE! For more than 30 years The Eindhoven Corporation of Primary Health Care Centres (SGE) has provided primary health care in Eindhoven. Besides General Practitioners (GP’s or in Dutch ‘huisarts’) we also offer other medical and paramedical facilities, such as a Dentist, Physiotherapists, Social workers and Psychologists. In the health care centres these specialists work together under the same roof to provide you with the best health care. Divided over different areas in Eindhoven, SGE provides healthcare to more than 80.000 patients. The Dutch medical system If you need a doctor, you should make an appointment by telephone to consult a general practitioner (GP or in Dutch ‘huisarts’). Through your GP you will have access to all the services of the Dutch medical system. GP’s hold clinics throughout the day. For emergencies outside office hours (after 5 PM and during weekends) you can call the duty doctor at the emergency point, in Dutch ‘Spoedpost’ on 0900-8861. Health insurance Treatment by a general practitioner is covered by your insurance policy. If you are working in the Netherlands, it is compulsory to take out a Dutch basic insurance. That way you do not have to pay for a consultation. If you are a student, you can pay for medical consultations in cash, after which you can submit a claim form to your insurance company who will refund you. Registration It is very easy to register yourself as a patient in one of our health care centres.
