The liquid Thread Sealant for sealing threaded compounds of metal pipe and fittings. Gebo Seal can be used for the following types of metal threads: Stainless steel Table of Application Gebo Seal Type of material Quality of thread DN max Sealing time TS 100 Brass Bronze Stainless Steel Prime 40 instant TS 200 Brass Bronze Stainless and Carbon Steel Aluminum and its alloys Fine 40 5 ÷ 10 min. TS 300 Cast Iron Carbon Steel Any other metal Rough 80 instant Brass Bronze Carbon steel Cast Iron Aluminum and its alloys Caution: Time of full curing is 24 hours Characteristics: Forget about the „old fashion“ ways of sealing threads ! All Gebo Seal Products are high resistant against most chemicals and acids so it can be used also in industrial sector. Gebo Seal is suitable for drinking water application. How to Use Gebo Seal ? Shake the sealant thoroughly before use. Thread surfaces should be clean, dry and free of grease. Apply sealant at least 1/2 of the length of single-stranded thread. Put sufficient quantity of sealant to fill all engaged threads. Assemble in a normal way by using a wrench. Within about 1 minute after application on thread it is possible to manipulate and change slightly a position of fitting/valve without losing a sealing effect. Why ? Using hemp or sealing tapes for thread sealing could cause the following effects: If you are using too much material, the thread could be damaged during tightening process Why three different versions of Gebo Seal ? If you are using not enough sealing material, there could be leakages. In this case you have to do the installation process again. The three different sealants TS 100, 200 and 300 based on the same principle: All products are anaerobic pipe thread sealant. With the new Gebo Seal, the above mentioned problems are solved: But the viscosity and the strength are different and specifically tailored for varying applications. simple Reason for this is that we are finding different quality of threads of different products, a fact that depends on the material and also on production process. safe smart Gebo Seal is not to be understand as glue or a seal locker, it’s a thread sealer! After usage of Gebo Seal, a demounting of the installed products is possible without any problems. If you might need to disassemble a thread connection sealed with Gebo Seal, use a normal wrench and simply turn the fitting opposite direction than assembled. You do not need to heat the pipe and fitting before. Opening torque is just a few Nm higher than torque used to close the thread connection. Disconnected fitting/valve can be connected to the pipe again if you clean residuals of cured sealant from its thread by using a sharp metal object (thick needle, steel wire). For the next assembling of disassembled fitting/valve it is recommended to use TS 300 thread sealant as the quality of surface of thread become worse.
