David Young is the Vice President of Design at Vivint Inc.
David has focused his career building brands for many of the world’s largest corporations. While
studying design at Brigham Young University he was commissioned by Adidas to work on the 1996
Olympics advertising campaign. Shortly after working on this campaign, Nike recruited David. David
spent the next 12 years building many successful brands at Nike.
In 1999, David relocated to Hong Kong to work on the 2000 Sydney Olympics campaign for Nike.
While there he gained a strong understanding of global marketing and the complexities of international markets.
David then went on to serve as Art Director for Nike Golf during a period of unprecedented international growth for the category. Following this success, he joined the Nike TechLab team, establishing
the Nike+ product line in partnership with Apple. He then led the design team in Nike Basketball,
overseeing the resurgence of the brand during the successful gold medal campaign of the 2008
U.S.A. Olympic team in Beijing. In 2010 David began concepting a men’s apparel collection, jugar,
and immersed himself in other creative projects as owner and creative director of 7d8, a communications agency based in Salt Lake City.
