Vantage Partners completes VP Direct Sales search in 75 days for venture-funded Sunrun, the nation’s
leading home solar company.
San Mateo, California (January 22, 2014) – Vantage Partners, a leading executive retained search firm, is
pleased to announce the completion of the Vice President of Direct Sales search for Sunrun, the nation’s
leading home solar company and inventor of solar power service, a way for homeowners to go solar
without high upfront costs. Sunrun has raised $145 million in venture capital from Accel Partners, Sequoia
Capital, Foundation Capital, and Madrone Capital Partners. Taking on the role of VP Direct Sales is Matt
Weil, an exceptionally qualified executive with over 20 years of sales leadership and management
experience. Matt was most recently the VP Sales at Verisign, former President/CEO and VP Sales at
Teneros, and VP Sales at Neustar and UltraDNS.
Sunrun required a rock star executive with a track record of success building and executing on the sales
business plan to aggressively grow the customer base and who would play a key role in reinforcing
Sunrun’s brand as a leader in the home solar space. As Sunrun’s new VP of Direct Sales, Matt will leverage
his experience and extensive track record for consistently exceeding company goals in highly competitive
