Epoxy Curing Agents and Modifiers
EDA Adduct 870-XB-50 Curing Agent
Technical Datasheet
DESCRIPTION
EDA Adduct 870-XB-50 is the 50wt % solution in
xylene/butanol (1:1) of the isolated adduct of a solid
epoxy resin with ethylene diamine. It is intended for
use in ambient temperature cured solvent-based
epoxy coatings.
Amine adducts used in place of the parent amines
give advantages in ease of application and low
odour. They have a low free-amine content which
reduces irritation potential and gives improved cure
under adverse conditions without induction.
In
addition, coatings are non-yellowing and bloom free
with excellent intercoat adhesion, flexibility and
chemical resistance properties. Applications include
marine and industrial protective coatings, primers
and finishes including coal-tar extended and solvent
resistant concrete sealer coats.
