SFU on the Way to a Comprehensive University
After due consideration, the SFU administration has decided to develop the SFU from a field-specific
university (Psychotherapy Science / Psychology) to a comprehensive university. We are currently
working on new degree programs. More information will follow in the fall.

New: Faculty of Music at SFU in Development
On July 16, 2014, the Sigmund Freud University and the Franz Schubert Conservatory (Director Prof.
Karl Svec) decided on a future cooperation.
This will entail artistic and educational music studies programs as well as a music therapy studies
program (BA, MA), all of which will be submitted for accreditation.
Thus, the current music education at the Franz Schubert Conservatory will be converted into an
academic degree program.
The intended start of the program is WS 2015/16, after accreditation.
Registration for a preparatory course will be possible as of WS 2014/15.
