Garcia was barely tested and scattered eight hits and two runs through seven innings to pick up the win in unseasonably hot 95degree temperatures under the blazing Arizona sun. The win avenged an earlier defeat to Agua Dulce earlier in the tournament. Kevin King, the Rangers’ Most Valuable Player, opened delivered a one-out single and came in on Myers’ two-run single in the first inning of Reds starter Jose Magallon. The Rangers put the game away with a four-run sixth highlighted by Don Walk’s two-run, bases-loaded double to left -center field. The win was the Rangers’ third in seven years.
