Radio 2’s 500 Words Competition 2014
Kate Attree-Milton has made it through to
the next round of the Radio 2 500 words
competition.
There were 118,000 stories submitted and
Kate's has gone through to round 2 with
3500 others.
The next round is to choose the best 50 out
of the 3500 and these will be selected this
month.
Good luck Kate!
A big thank you to
everyone who supported
our Easter Bingo – we
raised an amazing £400!
See Page 2 for the results
of our Annual Inter-House
Cake Decorating Competition!
63 pupils completed the recent
'Read for my School' challenge and
successfully completed one book in
each of the eight specified
categories.
A prize was awarded to the boy and
girl in each year group who read the
most books. Surprisingly, there
were no Year 5 boys or Year 8 girls
who completed the challenge!
Well done to our top readers who
won an Amazon book voucher:
Year 5 - Cicely Termine
Year 6 - Cerys Routley and River
Sheppard
Year 7 - Hannah Ebsary and Martell
Payn
Year 8 - Tom Carter
Overall 253 pupils took part in the
challenge and a total of 1575 book
were read.

Head of English
Annual Inter House Cake Decorating Competition
The competition took place just before Easter with cakes
based on the theme of ‘Food Glorious Food!’ All entries were
to be commended and were clearly admired by the numbers
of pupils, staff and visitors who viewed them. Hopefully the
pupils who produced them enjoyed eating them too!
