Overview
Optical CET will be holding an Ocular Disease Update at the Belfast La Mon Hotel and Country Club on
Sunday 9th November 2014. An informative course handbook with abstracts and biographies will be given to
each delegate on arrival. The Hotel is located just 25 minutes from Belfast City Centre and is accessible to all
main transport networks (road, rail and air) and has free car parking. There are no planned social activities on
the Saturday night, but some of the speakers and delegates will be staying in the hotel.
What’s the big attraction to attend Optical CET Belfast?
Our team have been running CET for the past 18 years and have provided training to over 7,000 Opticians.
At each course we ask delegates to rate each speaker and from this we have collated the best 8 speakers on ocular disease into one event. The 6 didactic lectures and 1 peer discussion session will be chaired with a Q&A
session included within each lecture. The morning and afternoon lectures will be split by a buffet lunch with
three workshops. The course is accredited for 11 interactive CET points from the General Optical Council. By
participating in our course you will have accrued 11 of the 12 necessary GOC CET points for 2014. All our
points are interactive (minimum 50% requirement) and include 6 of the 8 necessary competencies (General
& IP). The course is also accredited for 14 contact CET points from the Association of Optometrists Ireland
(AOI). For the current 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 AOI CET cycles you are required to have accrued at least 30
contact points or 14 contact/16 distance learning points throughout the 2 years. By participating in the course
you will have accrued 14 of the 14 necessary AOI CET points for 2014.
How do I book Optical CET Belfast?
