Bio for Comedian “D. ELLI$ aka Mr. Entertainment!” Originally from Texarkana, Arkansas, “D. Elli$ aka Mr. Entertainment!” moved to Dallas, Texas, to pursue a music career when his comedic personality catapulted him up the success ladder. This comedian-actor-musician worked faithfully in corporate America until he was encouraged by family and friends to channel his sense of humor into a dynamic and unique stage act. He was invited to do a set by the manager of the local Improv, which led to a weekly stint at another well-known entertainment club in Dallas. It was there that he was discovered and invited to open for Cedric the Entertainer in a three-minute act. He proved to be a roaring success and his moniker as “Mr. Entertainment!” was established. He quickly gained a national following on the comedy club circuit, performing at numerous locations including, Laugh-A-Palooza, Improvs, and the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles with Steve Harvey, Kim Coles, Katt Williams and Ricky Smiley. He’s been featured on Def Jam for Podcast, and has done voice-over and character work for the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” a popular nationally syndicated radio show. His high-energy stage performances and interpersonal crowd rapport has made him the host of choice for several “A-List” events, including the NBA All-Star Weekend Party in Los Angeles with special guest L.L. Cool J., special events for the M.O.N.N. Squad (Mothers of NFL and NBA Players), and the city-wide “Welcome Home” celebration for Jamie Foxx in Dallas. He has also shared the stage as the co-host with Queen of Comedy Monique, has been featured aboard the Tom Joyner Foundation’s Fantastic Voyage cruise, and has had regular guest appearances on top Dallas radio stations. Intelligent, as well as versatile, whenever D. Elli$ hits the stage, he brings a lively melody of topics, ranging from Boston Baked Beans to social politics – all of which are complemented by one of his greatest inspirations, King of Comedy Bernie Mac. Serenaded by his impromptu humor even off-stage, D. Elli$ fans remain captivated by his “triple-threat” entertainment style. As an actor, he’s had pivotal performances co-starring in independent motion picture releases of “Small Timers,” “The Lawn Boy,” and “Photoshop, the Movie.” In addition, D. Elli$ has appeared in music videos, local and national television commercials, and in live theater productions. In 2009, he launched his on-line television show, www.reallivintv.com and the late-night internet radio show, “D.Elli$ Talk.” His listening audience tripled in just the first three months of broadcast, reaching more than 5,000 and interviewing celebrity guests from all over the country. D. Elli$ recently performed in the Bronner Brothers’ play “Hair Show,” based on their annual hair show competitions, where he had a leading role opposite Chaka Khan. He continues his regular tours with Rickey Smiley. He is a spokesperson for the American Heart Association and is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles in financially underserved communities.
