CRAFTENGINE – DISTRIBUTED ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION
> Small-scale local power generation from renewable energy sources
> Industrial piston engine design by AVL – low cost and high reliability
> Conservative design – low maintenance and long lifetime
> Cost-effective – competitive energy costs (typ. €4-14 cents/kWh)
> Technology protected through several patents
CRAFTENGINE can utilize any heat source with temperatures
from ~80 °C (180 °F) and upwards such as waste heat
sources, geothermal hot springs and wells, biomass boilers
and solar thermal collectors in order to generate electricity,
heating and even cooling for needed purposes.
CRAFTENGINE in combination with various heat sources
provides a very competitive alternative to current
Photovoltaic and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems.
CRAFTENGINE can be installed in any type of building ranging
from common households* and farms to larger commercial
and industrial facilities in order to supply heating, cooling
and/or electricity.
CRAFTENGINE is the first and only small-scale engine that can
run exclusively on renewable, low-temperature heat
sources.
CRAFTENGINE is fully scalable, and may be adapted for a
range of uses, spanning from the needs of standard
households* to larger industrial applications.
* The current CraftEngine design is suitable for multi-family
homes and larger residential facilities.

The CRAFTENGINE Technology
The CraftEngine™ technology has been developed as a joint collaboration
between Viking Heat Engines and AVL, where Viking has provided the
technology foundation, and AVL represents the detailed technical
expertise of engine and engine systems design.
Through this collaboration, a comprehensive, cost-effective and reliable
ORC technology platform has been developed, which is suitable for many
applications in the field of renewable power generation, energy recovery
and more.
The technology offers much more than what is presented here, both in
terms of applications and power ranges.
Please contact Viking Heat Engines AS or AVL Schrick for further
dialogue on how we may be able to serve your industrial needs for various
applications.
