Call for Abstracts
The 16th IGORR conference organized in collaboration with the IAEA
(through an embedded Technical Meeting on low power Research Reactors)
will be hosted by CNEA-INVAP in November 2014 in Bariloche.
The joint IGORR 2014 / IAEA TM Programme Committee is calling for both oral
and poster presentations in the following topical areas of Research Reactors (RRs):
• IAEA TM topics related to Low Power RRs and Sub-critical Assemblies: utilization,
research, education and training programmes, core conversion, licensing, new projects
• Utilization: products & services, utilization experience & good practices in the field of
research & development, education & training and industrial applications
• Radio-Isotopes production: production of medical and industrial radioisotopes
• Irradiation/transmutation technology: irradiation and post irradiation examination of
materials and fuels; irradiation of silicon ingots and gem stones
• Safety: issues related to safety of reactor facility, staff, and environment; lessons learned after
Fukushima Daiichi events, stress tests, regulation changes, public acceptance
• Ageing Management, Modernization and Refurbishment
• Operation and Maintenance: experiences during reactor operation and maintenance
• Fuel: development & qualification of new RR fuels, in-core fuel management & safety,
spent fuel storage, corrosion & degradation, fuel cycle related issues
• Innovative Methods in RR Analysis and Design: neutronics/thermal-hydraulics calculations
& experiments; methods and tools for RR core analysis & design; nuclear safety
assessment methods & improvements for RRs
• New RR Projects: national/regional plans or construction updates of new RRs; lessons learned
from building and operating new RRs
• International cooperation, networks and coalitions: good practices and lessons learned
• Education & Training
