To be eligible for this award, students must have a 3.5 or higher grade point average over 3 years and score at Level 4 or 5 in reading and math on the Connecticut Mastery Tests. (Student names below in center) Connecticut Association of Schools – Scholar Leaders: Andrea Barros & Dylan Ignacio The Connecticut Association of Schools sponsors this award given to two students who have distinguished themselves in scholarship and leadership contributions to the community. The Excellence in Citizenship Award: Nabiha Deura The Office of the Secretary of the State sponsors the annual Excellence in Citizenship Awards for 8th grade students. The award recognizes outstanding young people in our state who are active participants in their community and their school. Judy Burns Memorial Award Kayla DeGuzman For over thirty years, Mrs. Judith Burns taught Language Arts at PRMS. Mrs. Burns had the unique ability to convey her excellent command of both the spoken and written word to her students. Taking care to view each of them as communicators, she encouraged them to fully use both their imaginations and intellects. In her memory, we honor Mrs. Burns’ exceptional gifts by annually presenting the Creative Writing Award in her name.
