HAIKU® WITH SENSEME™ BY BIG ASS FANS HKU-INST-1-ENG-01_D GETTING STARTED (CONT.) Installation and Setup Checklist Review the following checklist to ensure you have everything you need to properly install and operate your fan. ☐ I have the Haiku Installation Guide, which I followed to install the fan. Read the safety instructions and install the fan according to the steps in the installation guide. ☐ I have an iPhone or iPod running iOS 7.1.2 operating system software or newer, or I have a mobile digital device running Android 3.0 operating system software or newer. ☐ I have home Wi-Fi internet access. Big Ass Fans recommends migrating your fan to your home network so that you do not have to switch between the fan and the internet on your mobile digital device and so that you can operate Nest. Make sure the fan is within communication range to the router. ☐ If I am not migrating the fan to my home network, the fan will be installed within a 30 ft (9.14 m) radius from where I will use my mobile digital device to control the fan. Range can be affected by large obstructions if you do not migrate your fan to your home Wi-Fi network. ☐ I am not installing the fan on a circuit with a wall switch. Big Ass Fans does not recommend installing the fan on a switched circuit because the switch must always be on in order for SenseME to operate. ☐ The fan is not directly above a heating or cooling source such as a stove or air conditioner. Installing a fan directly above a heating or cooling source may inhibit accurate temperature sensor readings.
