“BIOCIDAL PRODUCT DOSSIERS AND THE BPR
- The Biocidal Products Regulation – Get Ready!!”
The Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) 528/2012 came into force on 1 September 2013
and replaced the outgoing Biocidal Products Directive (BPD). There were several new
additions introduced - including the bringing into scope of groups of products such as
Treated Articles. It also brings a shift in the way that Active Substances and Products
are reviewed, placing ECHA firmly at the heart of the process.
What is now very clear is that the Active Substances found in by far the largest groups
of products – Disinfectants and Preservatives – are nearing decision time. This is very
important for formulators of these products as they then have less than two years from
the time of a decision on the Active Substances in their formulation to submit dossiers
for products based on these Active Substances. Product Dossier compilation is a
resource-consuming occupation.
This seminar will address the steps required to produce a product dossier, the types of
data that are required and that may need generating, the production of risk
assessments and the process of actually generating and submitting the dossier itself.
It will also look at the differences between BPD and BPR – what is newly in scope and
what opportunities and threats come with the new Regulation.
Your speakers, Richard Elsmore, Karen Howard, Sara Kirkham, Anna Rowbotham,
Murray Smedley and your chairmen, David Ashworth and Ian Pepper, have all been
actively involved in the process of dossier management from the early days of the BPD
up to the current phase of the BPR and bring a wealth of experience to the seminar.
Join them to learn about the strategic and efficient management of this process to
maximise regulatory compliance and minimise the impact on your business.
