DELTA KAPPA GAMMA
ALPHA ALPHA CHAPTER
December 12, 2013 Minutes
Mary Jo Davis, president, called the meeting to order. The inspiration that she gave was an appreciation for all
teachers who go into the classroom each day and give their all. Teaching is a difficult, yet rewarding,
occupation.
Our $400.00 Grant-In-Aid was presented to Lindsey Anderson. Lindsey is a senior at Coastal College and will
be doing her student teaching at Brantley County Middle School. She was very appreciative of the grant.
BUSINESS
The minutes were approved as read in the Newsletter.
Copies of the treasurer’s report were placed on our seats and were approved.
Mary Jo asked people to email her if they were interested in being on the Nominating Committee. The Chapter
needs to have a slate of officers for the next biennium to be elected at the February meeting.
There was no correspondence to be reported.
New members were voted upon and approved. Our new members are: Sarah Salter, Heidi McDaniel and Sarah
Hartman. There will be an orientation in January for them and they will be inducted at our February meeting.
PROGRAM
Our Holiday Auction was held with lots of great items to be bought. Everyone had a great time and many went
home with super gifts. We earned $278.00 for the Grant-In-Aid which will be given again next year to a
deserving student.
After the auction, ditty bags were put together for the Seafarer’s. The assembly line of members quickly
assembled over 12 bags. Margie Young will deliver the ditty bags to the Seafarer’s House.
