MPLS Platforms
Description
Bandwidth demand is nowadays growing faster than operators
revenue while advanced IP services are taking the lead, being
video the large major part of the end user bandwidth needs.
Other main benefits are:
• Easy legacy network integration by means of PDH and SDH
native interface pseudo wiring;
At the same time more than 90% of the data services we all ask for
today either originate or terminates on Ethernet ports. Carrier
Service suppliers are then being forced to move from legacy PDH
and SDH networks to transparent end-to-end Carrier Ethernet
services while keeping legacy interconnectivity and reliability
standards.
• Point-To-Point radio links are available through incorporated
licensed microwave (MW) IDU cards;
The MPLS product family from Open Idea is the step forward
towards next generation fully flavored transport Network services.
It provides major benefits for backhaul carrier class networks with
features such as bandwidth statistical multiplexing, low latency
queueing, synchronization, security, scalability, flexibility, QoS,
QoE and deterministic OAM, configured dynamically or through
NMS.
• Strict fulfillment of international standards (MEF certified);
• Fast fault recovery (<50ms) by means of highly resilient
protocols (SNCP, MSP);
• Multi-Service enabled (Voice, Data and video);
• Open Idea MPLS product family is easily operated by the
same teams that currently operates traditional SDH
networks.

elements (switching matrix, processing, synchronization
and power);
• Management Interfaces:
- WEB Terminal supported over SNMP and HTTP protocols;
- Network resilient protection protocols (SNCP, MSP, LAG,
LACP);
- CLI (Command Line Interface);
- Open Idea Agora-NG NMS platform.
- In-service software upgrades;
- Non Stop Routing, Non Stop Forwarding, Graceful Restart,
VRRP.
Application
The MPLS Product family from OPEN IDEA enables Layer 2 Virtual
Private Network transport over MPLS of legacy interfaces using
pseudo wire emulation. The support of multiple technologies at
the same network elements promotes the decrease of CAPEX and
OPEX towards network service convergence.
The proposed MPLS systems are suitable for transport network
segments, supporting all topology scenarios, carrying the
information between the service centers and the client premises
and interfacing with existing legacy and/or any other network
elements with standard interfaces.
