Our school age summer camp is here to offer your child with endless opportunities to learn and grow. We incorporate the Y’s core values of caring, respect, responsibility and honesty into our daily activities throughout the
summer while promoting positive self image in a safe, secure and stimulating environment. If you want to see
what all the excitement is about, come join us this summer at camp for fun, for friends, forever!
X-TREME SUMMER CAMP!
July 7 – July 11 * X-treme Travels
June 9 – June 13 * X-treme Adventureland
Have you ever dreamed of traveling around the world in five
days? Well then pack your bags, because this week we are
going on an “x-treme” cultural adventure! We will be learning
about different countries across multiple continents, as well
as partaking in many of the cultural traditions of those
countries. Join us as we sample different foods, play games,
and create art like our friends from around the world. Don’t
forget your passports!
We will be starting off our summer by taking our imaginations on an “x-treme” journey into Adventureland. This week
will be focusing on fantastical adventures, as we meet
mythological creatures, transform ourselves into pirates and
princesses, put on our wizard hats, and slay treacherous
dragons. After working so hard all school year, X-treme Adventureland is the perfect place to unwind and let your
imagination roam free. So join us this week for an adventure
of epic proportions!
June 16 – June 20 * X-treme Jungle Safari
It’s time to break out your goggles and hop into the Jeep,
because we are about to head out on a safari! This week we
will be taking a journey into the deepest depths of the jungle. We will be learning about many of the different animals
that live in jungles, play games that transform us into those
animals, and even create our own jungles. So join us as we
transform our summer camp into an “x-treme” wild playland.
It’s a jungle in here!
July 14 – July 18 * X-treme Inventions
Is there an “x-treme” invention buried in your mind, just
waiting to burst out? Then join us this week, where YOU become the inventor! We will be learning about many inventors
and their inventions throughout history, as well as the
process of creating an invention. Then, we will use what we
learned to create our own inventions, which we will share at
our end-of-summer family event. So put on your thinking
caps and get ready to be creative. After all, we are NOT
reinventing the wheel!
June 23 – June 27 * X-tremely Creative
Are you longing to unleash your artist within? If so, then
come to summer camp this week, where we will be getting
“x-tremely” creative! This week will be completely focused
on arts and crafts galore. We will learn about many different
ways to create things – painting, sculpting, architecture,
jewelry making, and so much more! Make something for our
end-of-summer art show, to wear, or to display at home.
The creative possibilities are endless!
June 30 – July 3 * X-treme Celebrations
It’s the 4th of July week at summer camp, and it is bringing
all of the holidays along with it! Join us as we participate in
“x-treme” celebrations from all-year-round. We will be
learning about seasonal holiday traditions from around the
world, while celebrating all week in SACC style. And of
course, we will end our week by making our own “fireworks,”
as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our country. This
week will be a celebration to remember!

August 4 – August 8 * X-treme Fitness
The key to healthy living is not just in eating the right foods,
but also in staying active. Join us this week to discover how
“x-treme” fitness can mean “x-treme” fun! We will be learning about the benefits of exercise as well as the history of
many sports, dance, and forms of exercise. Then, we will get
hands-on with those activities! So don’t forget your sneakers and water bottles, because this week SACC is going to
get ACTIVE!
August 11 – August 15 * X-treme X-periments
July 21 – July 25 * X-treme Hollywood
Time to roll out the red carpet – because it’s your turn to be
in the spotlight! Join us this week for an “x-treme” trip to
Hollywood, where YOU will be the star. We will be participating in some of our favorite game shows, showcasing
some of our own talents, and even putting together group
acts to be performed for the other camps at the YMCA. So
watch out for the paparazzi, because SACC summer camp
has left the building!
July 28 – August 1 * X-treme Chefs
Science – the study of the world around us. Join us this week
as we explore that world through a series of “x-treme xperiments.” We will become junior scientists this week, as we
learn about the scientific method, form our own hypotheses,
and test them out through experimentation. Do you have
any ideas of something you would like to test out? Then
bring your ideas with you and we will see what we can discover. Don’t forget your lab coats!
August 18 – August 22 * X-treme H20
It’s always fun to end the summer with a week of “x-treme”
water fun. So grab your water gear this week, as we prepare to get wet and wacky! We will be learning all about
water and the ocean, as well as experimenting with water
and playing many fun water games. Plan on getting soaked!
Maybe you can even soak your counselor. Just a small word
of advice: you might just need a towel this week!
Are you ready to get your hands messy in the kitchen? Back
by popular demand is our week of “x-treme” cooking adventures. This week we will be learning many fun, nutritious
facts about food, as well as trying out some exciting new
recipes. And the best part is… YOU get to help be the chef!
You are also invited to share any special recipes from home
with your fellow campers. So tie your apron and get ready to
transform yourself into a culinary artist!
