NS 2028 is a potent soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC) inhibitor
(Ki = 8 nM) that blocks sGC activity in murine cerebellum
induced by S-nitroso-glutathione and NMDA (IC50 values are
17 and 20 nM respectively). The compound inhibits VEGFinduced cGMP accumulation, and abolishes VEGF-induced
migration in postcapillary venular endothelial cells (CVEC).

ARL 17477 is a selective neuronal nitrogen oxide synthase
(nNOS) inhibitor (IC50 values are 1 and 17 µM for nNOS
and endothelial NOS respectively). The compound reduces
ischemic cell damage after middle cerebral artery (MCA)
occlusion in rats, and displays a synergistic neuroprotective
effect when combined with either an NMDA or AMPA
receptor antagonist.

BYK 191023 is a potent and selective inhibitor of inducible
nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) (IC50 values are 86, 17000
and 162000 nM for iNOS, nNOS and eNOS respectively).
The compound acts in an NADPH- and time-dependent
manner, and is active in vivo where it reverses pathological
hypotension in the rodent endotoxin model.
