What is the Christian Leadership
Conference (CLC)?
For over 30 years the CLC program has been
implemented and supported by the Walker
Family Foundation of Long Beach California.
The primary purpose of the conference is to
help staff and volunteers put Christian
character and principles into Y programs. It is a
Christian conference that includes times of
encouragement, prayer, worship and
inspiration.
Who should attend?
The conference is open to all full time and part
time Y staff and volunteers interested in
deepening their relationship with God and
discovering how their faith can more effectively
impact their service in the Y.
Where is the conference taking place?
Camp Fitch is located on the shores of Lake Erie,
20 miles west of Erie, PA. Camp Fitch is one of
the premier Y camps in the country, serving over
14,000 guests per year in youth, family and
adult programs. The dining hall, seating 700
individuals boasts spectacular views of Lake Erie
and abundant meeting space. Comfortable dorm
style lodges with modern restroom and shower
facilities provides excellent camp style lodging.
When will it start?
The conference will begin at 8 pm on Friday
evening and conclude at Noon on Sunday. A
confirmation with information on what to bring,
check in time and preliminary detailed schedule
will be sent one week prior to the conference.
Will there be free time?
As part of our weekend we will provide free time
for recreation. Options include: Lake Erie beach
hike, archery, horseback riding, rock climbing
and more. This can be a great time to get
refreshed through exercise or fellowship with
newly formed friends.

Mechanics of Devotions: Creative
ways to share devotions with your staff
team or program participants. What are
the critical elements and the goals to
consider.
God Space: This will be a follow up to
our key note and go further in depth on
how to understand those who are God
seekers and how to effectively communicate and help them along their faith
journey.
Listen First: This critical communication tool of listening will be explored in
multiple facets and corresponds to the
YMCA Listen First training.
Emotional Intelligence: Emotional
intelligence is the “something” in each
of us that is a bit intangible. It affects
how we manage behavior, navigate
social complexities, and make personal
decisions that achieve positive results.
This will be a book study and those
interested can acquire the book,
Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Bradbury
and Graves to read in advance of this
workshop.
Margins – Time Management –Seems
like we are all SUPER BUSY! This
workshop will explore the why and the
how of creating margins in our life that
will contribute to our personal health
and provide opportunities to be
available for the unexpected. The book,
“Margins” by Swensen would be a
helpful read to gain more insight.
Transformational Teams – We need
our staff and volunteer teams to be
functioning at a high level of trust,
creativity and impact. This workshop
will help our teams get to the next level.
Please select the TWO workshops that
look most interesting to you. This will help
us decide if we need to repeat any and which
meeting rooms to select.
