Mandy Rollins
Senior Program Director, Certified Master Change Manager
Mandy has led change in organizations for more than
15 years. She is skilled in business model innovation, strategy
deployment, and the development of innovative processes,
procedures and tools to improve patient care. Mandy is
inspired every day by the transformational impact Medtronic
SM
PRO|CV services have on both healthcare systems and patients, especially
the ability to empower employees to identify and solve problems effectively,
resulting in greater patient access to quality care and improved outcomes. Mandy
is experienced in training, coaching, and facilitating process improvement and
change management initiatives in the healthcare setting. She has a unique
blend of leadership experience, combining change management, continuous
improvement, and procedure development in a wide range of functional
areas, including global clinical research, R&D, medical education, technical and
sales training, and service operations. Mandy has a Master of Public Health in
epidemiology from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science in
health promotion and wellness from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Angela Benjamin
Program Manager, Master Black Belt,
Certified Local Change Manager
Angie is a certified Lean Sigma Trainer with an InsideOut
Coaching certification. Angie has 17 years of Lean Sigma
experience and began her process improvement journey
as an industrial engineer, during which she was certified as
a Six Sigma Black Belt. At Medtronic, Angie has led numerous hospital- and clinicbased process improvement engagements that have raised the standard of care
through collaborative problem solving. This project work resulted in sustainable,
improved patient experiences as measured by patient satisfaction indicators and
economic value outcomes. Angie is passionate about coaching and engaging
healthcare teams to work actively in their own journeys to improve the impact on
the lives of patients they serve, as well as the operational excellence of their patient
processes. In addition to her healthcare work, Angie has led improvement efforts
in transactional processes in accounts payable, product replenishment, contracting,
customer fulfillment, and supply chain. Prior to Medtronic, Angie worked for a
technology and manufacturing company as a Six Sigma Customer Service Leader
and as an Operation Research and Management Analyst for a major airline.
Angie has a master’s degree in manufacturing operations from the University
of St. Thomas in Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering
from Iowa State University.
Heather Bye-Kollbaum
Program Manager, Master Black Belt,
Certified Local Change Manager
Heather has more than 12 years of Lean Sigma and change
management experience. She is particularly skilled at
motivating teams to drive out waste and improve the
experiences of patients in various healthcare settings. Heather has a wide range
of process improvement project experiences and has led numerous teams in
hospital cath labs, heart failure centers, and device clinic practices. Heather has
helped her project teams set and achieve challenging goals, and her work has
yielded new key metrics to measure success and the removal of functional silos
so that improvements can be sustained. Heather is passionate about empowering
teams and simulating improvements so that team members can experience
their changes firsthand. Heather is inspired by the specific challenges each
customer faces and the unique aspects of each engagement that lead to exciting
solutions and results. Heather is also engaged in training, and she co-developed
and delivered a unique Lean Healthcare Practitioner course. Prior to her
healthcare work, Heather led process improvement engagements for Medtronic
transactional and manufacturing functions and has partnered with external
suppliers to evaluate processes and facilitate baseline assessments. Heather has
a Bachelor of Science in imaging engineering technology from St. Cloud State
University in Minnesota.
Michael De Georgeo, Ph.D.
Program Manager, Black Belt, Adjunct Professor/Lecturer,
University of Minnesota
Mike is passionate about helping people navigate change, and
he is particularly focused on improving the patient experience
in hospitals and clinics. Mike has more than 11 years of
experience at Medtronic, and he has cross-functional
expertise in Lean Sigma, change management, business consulting, human
resources, and supply chain. Mike appreciates following a systematic approach
to making change by empowering a team of informed stakeholders to address
the root causes of operational challenges. Mike brings a global perspective and
solid international experience to his work, having managed Lean Sigma process
improvements for Medtronic Cardiovascular operations in Galway, Ireland, and
through numerous program management responsibilities in Europe and Asia. Prior
to Medtronic, Mike worked for seven years as a business consultant at a prominent
global consulting firm. Mike has a Ph.D. from the Department of Organizational
Leadership, Policy, and Development and a master’s degree in education with a
specialization in organization development and training, both from the University
of Minnesota. Mike has numerous certifications in leadership development,
human resources, and training, and he is on the adjunct faculty at the University
of Minnesota, teaching organization development.
Lynn D. Hennen
Program Manager, Master Black Belt,
Certified Local Change Manager
Lynn is one of the founding members of the PRO|CV team
and has passion for empowering and coaching teams to
make change. Lynn has extensive experience improving
hospital and clinic processes for patients in the cardiovascular
area. She is particularly focused on the preparation of patients for device implant
and in-office and remote device check processes. Lynn has been with Medtronic
since 2005 and is an energetic, collaborative leader focused on bringing teams
together to solve shared operational challenges. She has a proven track record
of generating team engagement. A key to Lynn’s success is her ability to connect
with leaders and team members from all levels of an organization. Lynn has a
Bachelor of Arts from Augsburg College in Minnesota, and additional continuing
education focused on coaching, facilitation, and data-driven decision making.
Andrew Kinser
Senior Program Manager, Master Black Belt
Andy has eight years of process improvement experience
with Medtronic. He has deep expertise in leading, coaching,
and implementing change. Andy is experienced in assessing
organizational maturity in continuous improvement. He
has partnered with industry groups such as the Lean
Enterprise Institute, ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value, and the Shingo Prize
Organization in adapting assessment models to Medical Device manufacturing
and Healthcare Provider environments. Prior to joining the PRO|CV team, Andy
was a Senior Engineering Manager and a site-wide Continuous Improvement
Leader at Medtronic. He sees great value in taking a systems view when
assessing improvement opportunities and has a track record of achieving
process performance objectives by leading teams with representatives from
complex value chains. Andy has experience working in quality, customer service,
global manufacturing operations, and human resources. Andy has a bachelor’s
in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota, and he is currently
completing his MBA at the University of Minnesota.
Jennifer McCready
Program Manager, Black Belt, Certified Local Change Manager
Jennifer has eight years of Lean Sigma and change
management experience at Medtronic, specializing in
healthcare. She enjoys leveraging her firsthand clinical
experience to help healthcare institutions gain clarity and
sustain meaningful, long-term improvements. Jennifer is
experienced in facilitating large-scale process improvement initiatives in hospital
procedure labs and EP device clinics, along with many years of experience in
remote patient management. Prior to Medtronic, Jennifer spent 12 years on the
front line of healthcare as an account manager for a large healthcare system. She
has extensive experience in coaching and educating individuals and teams to
improve performance and in developing disease management programs. She has a
Bachelor of Science in community health from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Nickeyia Morstad
Program Manager, Black Belt
Keyia has six years of process improvement experience
at Medtronic and is currently finishing her Master Black
Belt certification. She has led and coached numerous
engagements in various functions, including finance,
supplier development, supply chain, human resources,
manufacturing, clinical, facilities, and IT. Keyia is committed to developing Lean
Sigma skills and knowledge in others, and she co-created and implemented
the global approach for training new Green Belts at Medtronic. Keyia is an
enthusiastic proponent of Lean Sigma and finds it exciting and rewarding to
partner with hospitals and clinics on continuous improvement initiatives. Before
joining Medtronic, Keyia spent eight years with a consulting firm in various roles
and was responsible for data collection, analysis, and change management
strategy development. In addition to medical device and healthcare industries,
Keyia has consulting experience with utilities, government, and manufacturing
organizations. Keyia has a bachelor’s degree in business management from
Metropolitan School of Business and a business systems certification from
Minnesota School of Business.
Kim Puleo
Program Manager, Master Black Belt,
Certified Local Change Manager
Kim specializes in improving the patient experience,
and she enjoys using her extensive experience in
process improvement to reframe complex situations
into understandable challenges. With over nine years
of experience with Medtronic, Kim has led numerous cross-functional teams
through transformational change in device clinics and hospital procedural
labs. Leading and coaching healthcare initiatives provides Kim with patientfocused opportunities to develop innovative and meaningful improvements
that have provided a streamlined experience for patients while reducing waste
and costs for healthcare providers. Kim’s passion is coaching, and she enjoys
seeing individuals grow in their understanding of continuous improvement,
especially when they feel empowered to make change. Prior to her healthcare
work, Kim provided IT consulting services with several clinics, managed
process improvement projects for financial systems, and worked as a software
training specialist. Kim has a master’s degree in organizational management
from Concordia University in Minnesota, a bachelor’s degree in business
from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and an Associate Certificate in Project
Management from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
