Dear Fellow Parent,
On behalf of Williams Lake Chapter of Canadian Parents for French, welcome to the French immersion program! You have made an
important, and we believe a very enriching decision to enroll your child in Canada’s most popular program of choice. We are here to help
ensure you get the most out of this excellent educational opportunity. In fact, the Williams Lake Chapter of Canadian Parents for French was
formed by parents just like you for that very reason. CPF is a group of volunteers dedicated to the creation and promotion of French secondlanguage learning opportunities for young Canadians.
What do we do?
We organize all kinds of fun and exciting events and activities – including camps, film festivals, carnivals and more – all in French!
We offer resources to parents, especially those who don’t speak French, can support their children at home;
We respond to questions you might have about your child’s ongoing education;
We work alongside principals and teachers to help create unique learning experiences both in and outside of the classroom;
We are part of a network of more than 8,500 members in BC and the Yukon who are continually advocating for better French programs for
our kids; CPF BC has a great website with loads of information including the latest research on how to address reading and learning
challenges, and on where to find summer French camps in BC and across the country.
We have a Facebook site (with links above) to keep you up to date for upcoming events and recruiting for volunteers.
CPF Williams Lake is very proud of our accomplishments to date. Here are some of the highlights from the past year:






We organized Charlotte Diamond to perform for the students of ecole Nesika (along with ecole Nesika PAC)
We organized a French Day Camp during August for the elementary students.
We held two BBQ’s at Bel-E-Acres for parents and students.
We hosted a Winter Carnival day with Cabana Sucre, Poutine, Beaver tails and more.For more information call or

We hosted O’Canada for the students of ecole Columneetza.
Maple fundraiser, teacher luncheon, booth at Children's festival and much more...
We believe that French is not simply a subject our kids learn in school, but more broadly, a way to have fun, play games, make friends, and experience
adventure. Your child’s love of all things French depends on you! We invite you to become a member of Canadian Parents for French. Eighty per cent of
your membership fees comes right back to this community to fund french academic and cultural activities.
