Archbishop Apuron visits DCS
DCS welcomed His Excellency Rev.
Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron, OFM
Cap DD during his visit on September 10, 2014. The Archbishop came
for his annual visit with staff from
the Catholic Schools Office, Ms. Cynthia Agbulos, Superintendent, and
Ms. Bea Reyes, Secretary. He celebrated a Holy Mass held at the Multipurpose Hall concelebrated by Fr.
Jonathan Alvarez. Sponsored by the
2nd graders, the Mass was wellattended by Dominicans including
the parents.
After the mass, a short program was
held to cordially welcome the
Archbishop and the guests.
Archbishop thanked everyone for
making the visit possible. He
“ Keep on, do the good work, study hard, pray
hard, and hope that the Lord continue to bless us”
blessed the Dominicans and delivered a short
message. He said, “I pray that you continue to
grow in faith and love and in service for one
another and that you will make the Lord be
happy”.
He also told the students that he is sure that
St. Dominic is looking down upon them and
all the Dominican saints. “ Keep on, do the
good work, study hard, pray hard, and hope
that the Lord continue to bless us, ” he
added. He also visited Pre-Kinder classrooms to greet and interact with the students.

Message from Fr. Danny Ferrandiz, DCS Chaplain
My Dear DCS Community,
The construction of the VERITAS GYM is at the heart
of all our undertakings. It will require a lot of efforts
community involvement and numerous trials; but
our commitment to give the best for the DCS community will make us all endure.
In September we do not only celebrate the birth of
Mary but also the month of her sorrows. This tells
us that the birth of the Blessed Mother also foretells the sufferings she will endure in culminating
the Saving Actions of Jesus.
The suffering of our Lady is united with the sufferings of Jesus. It is so profound that it should inspire all of us
to love the cross and to imitate Christ and the Blessed
mother’s endurance.
Just like the prophecy of Simeon, the fulfillment of
our dreams will depend on how we all hold on to
each other just like Mary was holding on to her Son Jesus.
As your school chaplain, my prayer is that we all learn from
the examples of Mary. She teaches us especially how to suffer and to offer all our sufferings to Jesus who is faithful to
The New School Year has started and there are a lot of trials
us. She teaches us that the power to survive is in the humble
that the DCS community will have to face and endure. Just
offering of our struggles and pains to God, our Father, united
like the heart of Mary pierced with a sword, the heart of DCS
with His Son Jesus in communion with the Holy Spirit.
community will be tested as we brace ourselves into fulfilling
