Janice Fitten, is now a Certified Mississippi Purchasing Agent. She passed this test in
September. Having a Certified Purchasing
Agent is a requirement for MS agencies and
Jane Pittman decided not to renew her certification due to health reasons. Janice is training
with Jane plus doing her other full time job
duties.
All staff are invited to the DETECT grand
opening at the clinic on November 13 at
10:00a.m. We will have lots of off-campus
guests and some dignitaries, so let’s have them
leave with a wonderful impression of the staff
at Hudspeth Regional Center.
How lucky I am to have something
that makes saying goodbye so
hard.

Shirley Madison (center with yellow shirt), Third Quarter EOQ for Direct
Care, is surrounded by bosses and co-workers at Meridian Group Home.
Ester Payton, a recreation aide supervisor for Unit 2, knows how to make
holidays and events extra special by
planning fun activities for the individuals she serves.
Ms. Payton has been working at HRC
for 10 years. She ensures each client on
the unit is taken care of by assisting in
meals, bathing, and activities on and off
campus.
Tim Meeks nominated Ms. Payton and
says, “This employee never shows up
short of outstanding to me.”
You can find Ms. Payton working A, B,
or C shift - wherever she is needed.
CROSSWALKS
Kertrina (pictured above) is the Employee of the Year
for MIDD. Congratulations!
HRC showed its support for Dyslexia Awareness in October.
I don’t know if it is because of the rush to punch
in, not paying attention, or folks are just rude, but
we have a problem about cars on the HRC campus
not yielding to pedestrians. If you see someone in
a marked crosswalk on campus, the driver of the
vehicle is required by law to yield to the pedestrian. We have had some close calls and it needs
to stop now.
Phone use while driving on campus is strictly prohibited. Don’t do it.
If you are rushing to punch in for work and hit
someone, you won’t have to worry about being
late at HRC because you will be long gone and
may be sitting in a cell down the road.
Be careful! The five seconds you save is not
worth someone’s life.
care supervisor for Meridian Group
Home and has worked at the home for
15 years.
Ms. Madison is outgoing and the individuals she serves know she is dependable and has their best interest in mind at
all times.
The ladies know Ms. Madison will arrange special outings for them including
movies, dining out, trips to the nail salon, parties, etc.
LaSonja Stevens, Meridian Group Home
Director, says Ms. Payton doesn’t ever
complain about her many duties and is
an outstanding example of what a DCW
should be.
