Historic Renaissance District Board to Get New Look
La Grange, KY June 5, 2014: Discover Downtown La Grange (DDL), the city’s Historic Renaissance District
revitalization association, is now soliciting board member nominations. Nominations are open June 6 through June 22.
DDL members will receive voting ballots electronically June 26. Ballots will be tallied on July 3 and results announced
prior to the board meeting on July 21 at 5:30 pm. New board members should plan to attend the 7/21 meeting. Persons
interested in joining the board should download the Board Nomination Form at www.discoverlagrange.org/forms .
11 board positions are open for nomination: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Promotions
Committee Chair, Design Committee Chair, Organization Committee Chair, Economic Restructuring Chair,
Audit/Ethics Chair (new), Nomination/Membership Chair (new), and Farmer’s Market Committee Chair (new). Board
member job descriptions are available online at www.discoverlagrange.org/forms . All board members, new and
returning, will participate in a training session, dates to be announced later.
“DDL has been blessed to be under exceptional board leadership for many years. We have some of the best
community and merchant leaders in town on our board. Several will be returning, and a few desire a well-deserved
break,” explains Nancy Griffin, DDL’s Executive Director. “In an effort to follow our by-laws more closely, we have
decided as an association to have all board members interested in returning submit (or have submitted for them) a
board nomination form, in the same fashion as our new recruits. The positions are 3 year terms, with 3 positions rotating
off each year. With our new membership types, guidelines, adjusted fees, and benefits, we hope to see many new
leaders joining our team to promote downtown La Grange.”
