Import Assignment Grades
Skyward allows the teacher to import assignment grades directly into the Skyward grade book provided the
assignment is already created in the grade book. The steps required to accomplish this task are:
a) first create a .csv file (Excel spreadsheet) containing the necessary information

Student ID (in column one)
Grade (in column two)
Save the file as a .csv (comma separated)
create the assignment in the Skyward grade book
select the .csv file
verify that information is correct
import into Skyward
Create an Excel .csv file
1) Use your chosen method of getting the
student name, other id and grade in an
excel spreadsheet. This can be
manually created, or exported from
another system.
2) Clean the file by deleting all extraneous
data leaving only the student other id
and the grade.
a) In the example, Row A and Column
A, B, and C were deleted, leaving
only the student other id number and the grade.
3) You are now ready to save this file to your local computer.

Save on Windows Computer
1) To save the file, click on File on the menu bar, and Save As.
2) Click the arrow to expand the file type list.
3) Click the CSV (comma delimited) and click Save.

Import Grades (.csv) into Skyward Gradebook.
You are now ready to log in to the Skyward Gradebook. To import the grades in the .csv file you have
created, open the class to which the grades should be added.
Add Assignment
1) In the EA+ Gradebook, open the gradebook and select the course to import the grades.
2) You must first add the assignment to which you need to import the grades. Expand the Assignments
tab and click Add Assignment. Complete all required information to add the assignment.
Import Grades
1) With the assignment added, click the Assignments tab and select the “Import Assignment Scores”
option.
2) Click on the Assignment for which the scores are to be imported.
Click the assignment for which
the scores are to be imported.
Show Graded Assignments = will display assignments where scores have been entered.
Show Assignments Not Due Yet = will display assignments with a future due date.

3) In the next window, click the Browse button to find the .csv file you have previously saved to your
computer and click Open.
Click the Browse button and
navigate to the .csv file saved
on your computer.
File to be imported.
Click to see list.
4) Click the “Import Scores” button to see the list of
students and grades to be imported.
5) Click the “Use Imported Scores” to pull in the
grades.

6) Once imported, the grades will show in the Score Entry window. This window will give you the
opportunity to edit the score, add a special code, or comment.
Click “Save” to
complete.
7) If all is correct, click the Save button to complete the process.
8) Click back to return to the Main screen and you should see the assignment grades.
