FACT SHEET ON TAMIL NADU
The 16th Lok Sabha elections would be held in the 39 Parliamentary Constituencies of Tamil Nadu
on single poll day, namely April 24, 2014. Polling will be held at 60,418 polling stations spread
across 27,867 polling station locations. Out of the state’s total of 5,37,52,682 electors as on 14th
February 2014, 12.56% are in the age group 18–25, while women constitute 49.96%. The poll
expenditure limit per candidate for all constituencies in the state is Rs.70 lakhs.
