Parent Update – Enrollment for 2014/2015 NEWS
This year we will be hosting CLA’s 5th Annual Enrollment Event at the Martis
Camp Family Barn in May. Yes, usually we have this event in March… but this
year, we are putting all of our parent and staff energy into preparing for the
Magic Show on April 26th, then it will be time to celebrate! Look for your
invitation this month.
Here is a sneak preview of the event in May at Martis Camp’s Family Barn…. The
event marks the Opening Day of our enrollment for the 2014/2015 school year AT
the event. Be there to enjoy this special (parent only) event showcasing our
amazing academics, films about CLA in the Theater, wine, delicious food, all in
the fun atmosphere of the Martis Camp Family Barn.
There will be a hard-to-beat incentive offer for those who enroll at this event. We
are happy to announce that tuition rates are NOT changing for next year IF you
enroll before June 13th, Graduation Day, which is the last day of our 2013/2014
school year. There will be tiers of tuition rate increases based on the date of
enrollment, which will all be clearly outlined for you in the invitation.
Support Truckee ’s only accredited Private School option which has a 100%
effectiveness rating based on the data of each student we have served so far.
Invite any friends who are interested in learning more about CLA to this upcoming
event. We want to increase our numbers and we need your help. We will assume
all CLA parents are attending, and will ask that you only let us know any regrets.
Get excited for this very special evening coming May 2014….

Magic Show – Parents we need YOU
Our Magic Show coordinators, CLA Parents, Allison Jeffrey and Candy Carter are
doing a great job with growing our sponsors and donations for the silent auction
items. Please coordinate with them to see how you can support our event, which
will be a FUN Family Event for our WHOLE Community and earn your CLA
service hours!
Thank you parents~

War II.
March 21 – Night out for Middle School and High School
Students
Leave CLA at 3pm with Marc Smith, CLA math and Science teacher. The fun
agenda begins at the Need for Speed Go Carts in Reno , then dinner, then a few
games of bowling! Join the fun!
Extended Care Visit #2 – March 18 at 1:45
All K-5th grade students, along with some motivated middle school students, are
visiting the residents of the extended care facility. The choir will sing, and we will
bring some fun activities for the students to share with the residents. I am very
proud of our staff and students for participating in this meaningful community
service. Thank you to Kaitlyn (Kaity)) Fitzgerald, our Spanish & PE teacher, for
doing all the initial leg work and making this partnership possible!. Great job
Kaity!
Community Service for Grades 6-12
Support your high school student in their community service hours! A few of our
secondary students have not turned in their Commitment form. All secondary
students are meeting with Lisa in her office this week to go over their plan, and to
discuss their learning and classes. Lisa is checking their use of the planner as
well as making sure students are using the information in the Friday Reports
printed for them on Mondays.
Community Service can be served to any non-profit agency. There are many to
choose from in our area, and we are open to Reno non-profits as well. A few of
our students are coordinating their own ideas and have received office approval to
do so. The most important thing is that students are working to help others in an
area of interest. Each student needs to log 10 hours of service this semester.
Thank you for your support.
KidZone Supports CLA, so let’s support KidZone!
The KidZone is promoting our Magic Show at their Children’s Museum and
through their email blasts, so let’s support their fundraiser this month while we eat
yummy food at the Squeeze In! Squeeze In is partnering with Kidzone Museum
during the month of March to help raise money and awareness for our awesome
organization and the terrific programs we provide. Squeeze In has been a Truckee
institution for 40 years and is continuing to help support our community by
donating a portion of it's March proceeds to Kidzone Museum .
All CLA students will be taking a flyer home on Tuesday March 4th about this
fundraiser to remind you. Just take the flyer to Squeeze In any day during the
month of March and they will generously donate 10% of your check right back to
us. Easy Squeezey! Please don’t forget the flyer because you must present it to
earn all those bucks for KZM. Giving never tasted so good!
