DMB Site Requirements - Install Overview

Front Counter Digital Menu Board (FC DMB)
Pre-Install and Site Readiness
Two Weeks Prior to FC DMB Installation Team Arrival
Permits
•
Securing of all required permits, if applicable, is the responsibility of the customer.
Prior to FC DMB Installation Team Arrival
Restaurants with POS Price Feed Integration:
•
POS Price Feed will be integrated with the FC DMB. Therefore the menu pricing that
appears on the FC DMB will be automatically updated via RFM.
•
Store hours, LTO, Promo Scheduling and Product Removal must be entered and
updated through www.mcdmb.com prior to installation. Simply logon to
www.mcdmb.com in your web browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc.) and make
the necessary changes outlined above in the web portal.
DMB Installation Area
•
Restaurant valance wall must be at a minimum 219 inches horizontally and 30.3
inches vertically on the DMB valance wall to support all 5 displays (LG 5 panel
system total weight is 313 lbs and NEC 5 panel system total weight is 408 lbs).
•
Appropriate backing (1/2” plywood) installed per the slip sheet throughout the
valance wall mounting area
•
Tile remediation for valance wall is installed, grouted and cured a minimum of 24
hours prior to the FC DMB installation date.
•
Electrical outlets installed (reference slip sheet provided at mcdpop.com).
Total Outlets Needed: 10 – We suggest (3) Dual Gang/Dual Outlet.
Outlets need to be on an ISOLATED, GROUNDED 20A circuit that is NOT managed by
a Restaurant Power Management system. NO twist lock outlets.
•
Permanent (uninterrupted) power in place at the restaurant.

Pre-Install and Site Readiness
•
Data Cable Junction boxes and conduit installed per slip sheet instructions for your
restaurant found on www.mcdpop.com or provided by your General Contractor.
•
Upon receipt of the DMB equipment, you will be responsible for securing the
equipment in a safe dry location, at room temperature, on site until installation and
have it readily available for the AT&T technicians upon their arrival.

DMB Installation Area
•
For any Existing or MRP restaurant, the current menu board along with all support
rails and electrical power strips must be fully removed prior to your FC DMB
installation date.
•
Removal and disposing of the old menu board is the responsibility of the
restaurant.
•
Any restaurant equipment that needs to be accessed during install should be
moved outside of the installation area.
DMB Installation Area (cont’d)
•
Any food product should be moved/relocated outside of the installation area.
•
It is the restaurant’s crew responsibility to provide dust/debris management (i.e.
plastic sheeting) to prevent food contamination.
Connectivity
•
AWS NMD installed and operational on broadband connection
•
AWS 24 Port Enhanced Switch installed and operational
During Install
•
The restaurant lobby must be closed.
•
Installation timeframe is approximately 8 hours.
•
Restrict access to the installation area by restaurant crew.

Pre-Install and Site Readiness
•
Authorized onsite resource is required to review and sign the AT&T DMB Installation
Acceptance Form.
•
Installation area pre-existing conditions will be documented and noted on the AT&T
DMB Installation Acceptance Form.
Immediately After Installation
•
The installation team will remove large debris (i.e. packaging material, etc.) from
the installation area to the restaurant dumpster.
•
The AT&T installation team will conduct a full review of the installation through the
AT&T Digital Menu Board Installation Acceptance Form.and your onsite delegate will
be responsible for signing-off on completion of the installation.
•
Your custom menu and pricing will begin downloading upon completion of the
installation and will take approximately 3 to 6 hours to complete depending on the
available bandwidth during download.
•
The restaurant will need to mop/clean the installation area to remove fine dust and
debris from restaurant equipment.
•
The restaurant should review the prices on the FC DMB to ensure their accuracy and
submit any changes through the web portal at www.mcdmb.com.
Post-Installation Ongoing Support
•
The restaurant should submit any ongoing changes through the web portal at
www.mcdmb.com.
•
