SUBMITTING LOAN DOCUMENTS WITH DOC STATION
United Guaranty’s MI Guide® Doc Station is a secure way to submit MI loan files to United Guaranty online. In addition to being userfriendly and interactive, Doc Station offers several helpful features:

Getting started is simple
Sign in to United Guaranty’s MI Guide® at www.ugcorp.com.
From the menu options, select DPI Underwriting, then select
Upload Your Loan to access the Doc Station Dashboard.

Submitting a new
MI application
From the Dashboard, click Start New Loan. The Upload
Submission form displays.
Complete the Upload Submission form.
Note: The Name, Fax Number, and Email Address fields
are populated based on your My MI Guide profile.
To update your profile, return to the MI Guide home page
and access My MI Guide.
TIP: Click ? for additional information.
You can add additional information regarding the review in the
Special Handling Instructions box.
Do not include any special characters in the Special
Handling Instructions box. If you’re using a copy/paste
function, be sure to remove special characters or symbols
(such as * - _ #).
Click Continue to proceed.

Uploading files for a new MI
submission
Click Add Files to start the upload process.
Valid file types: bmp, doc, docx, gif, jpeg, jpg, pdf, ppt,
pptx, rtf, txt, xls, xlsx, zip, zipx.
Maximum file size: 100MB per document.
Maximum file name size: 64 characters.
(No special characters or symbols, such as * - _ #).
Browse for a file on your computer. Select the desired file and
click Open. Only one document can be selected at a time.
To add more documents, click Add Files again.
Note: For faster turnaround, be sure you include a
completed Uniform Residential Loan Application (Form
1003) when uploading documents.
Next, click Upload to upload a single document or Upload All to
upload multiple documents at once. To remove a document
before uploading, select it and click Cancel.
The blue bar indicates the system is processing.
The green check marks indicate your documents have
successfully uploaded and are ready to submit.
Click Continue.
Note: Use the Remove or Remove All buttons to remove
document(s) after uploading. Use the Cancel All button to
stop an upload in progress.
TIP: Because Doc Station is a secure method of sending
sensitive data, it’s not necessary to apply passwords to
your documents. Applying passwords to your
documents can delay the processing of your loan files.

Review your submission form.
Note: Use the Edit Loan button to go back to the submission
form to make changes.
Click Continue.
Review your uploaded files to be certain all documents are included.
Note: Use the Edit button to return to the Upload Documents
page to add or remove documents.
Click Continue.
Review the lender disclaimer and click Submit.
TIP: For best results when using Doc Station,
run MI Guide in only one browser window at a
time. Otherwise, you may receive a false
confirmation that your upload was successful.

Next, you’ll receive a “Thank You” confirmation screen that displays
a Reference Number. This is your confirmation that the submission
is complete.

Click View or Print a Copy for a printable PDF of the
confirmation page.
From the “Thank You” confirmation screen, you may also:

Click Start New Loan to submit another loan file.
Click Dashboard to return to the dashboard screen to submit
trailing documents or Independent Validation documents.
TIP: For best results when using Doc Station,
run MI Guide in only one browser window at a
time. Otherwise, you may receive a false
confirmation that your upload was successful.

Independent Validation
From the Dashboard, use the search options to locate an
existing loan.
Search by any of the following fields:
Borrower’s name, submitter’s name, certificate number, lender loan
number, or any combination.
Note: The borrower name search fields do not require a full name to
search, only a minimum of one letter in each field.
All columns can be sorted by
clicking the heading.
From the list of search results, click the loan once to select it.
From the Upload Submission Trailing Documents page, select the reason you
are submitting the documents:
•
Underwriting (documents/conditions required for MI underwriting
decision).
•
Independent Validation (documents for SecureCert accelerated
rescission relief).
Review the Contact Information section on the loan’s upload submission form
and make any necessary changes.
You can add additional information regarding the load review in the Special
Handling Instructions box.
Click Continue to upload files using the same process as for a new loan (see
pages 3–5, Uploading files).
Note: Review information on next page regarding the “Thank You”
confirmation page for trailing documents (Independent Validation and
Underwriting document submission).

The “Thank You” confirmation screen displays with a Reference
Number confirming that the submission is complete.
Click View or Print a Copy for a printable PDF of the
confirmation page.
The confirmation PDF confirms the reason of the document
submission received by United Guaranty:

Underwriting (documents/conditions required for an
underwriting decision).
•
Independent Validation (documents for SecureCert
accelerated rescission relief).

Loan Status Definitions
United Guaranty Loan Status
Definition
Approved
The loan has been approved for MI coverage with United Guaranty.
Conditional Commitment
A conditional commitment has been issued for this loan. When the condition is met, a
full commitment will be issued.
Declined
The loan does not meet United Guaranty’s risk requirements for MI coverage.
Full File Required
The loan was submitted under the delegated data submission program; however, United
Guaranty has determined a full-file submission is required (applicable lenders only.
In Registration
The loan has been received at United Guaranty and is being prepared for
the underwriter.
In Underwriting
The loan is currently assigned to a United Guaranty underwriter.
Received
United Guaranty has received the loan package or documents, which will be processed.
Registered
The loan has been processed and is waiting for an underwriter.
Suspended
The loan has been suspended; please contact United Guaranty Customer Service for
more details: 877.MI.CHOICE (877.642.4642).
