Indonesian activity
"Friday evening August 22nd, 2014 located at Dukhan Football ground with approximately 150 ladies,
gentlemen and 100 children from Dukhan's Indonesian community celebrated our country’s independence day.
The actual date of our independence was August
17th and the declaration date was August 17th
1945.
Children and parents happily came together to
take part in some fun activities which included
sporting games: Tug of war, Biting hanging crackers, to name but a few. All games winners and
runners up were given prizes.
The prizes were presented by Indonesian Family
Forum President Mr. Bangun Widadi.
Very big thanks and high appreciation to IFC and
Dukhan Operation who helped to facilitate this
memorable programme".
QP Dukhan awarded the Championship Crown in Doha
Al-Gharafa Sports Club - QP Dukhan won against ETC Solutions in a one
sided game resulting in a 78-53 win to claim the 2014 President Al-Vita
Cup championship crown last Friday.
QP Dukhan’s defensive strategy was such that they prevented ETC Solutions in accomplishing any proposed game plan. Dukhan limited them to
only 8 points in the final period in comparison to their 25 points.
Narciso Cabacungan’s big 24 points showing from game one, followed in
this game with a 16 points splurge. This included an 8 clutch points in the
fourth quarter, supported by second centre Alain Borja with 4 points. The
backcourt tandem of Joel Delos Santos and Efren Ambrocio were utilised
by Coach Alex Amo to the delight of the crowds. The two combined 6
points and 4 assists.
Oscar Butial and Elmer Medina on the other hand, scattered 22 and 6
points respectively while Dukhan’s best defender Cris Casas chipped with
4 points.
Jessie Macasa who had a monster effort in game one with 12 points, was
hobbled by 4 fouls in the final period. He still managed to grab 12 points
including a crucial run in the late quarter, while Rudy Ancheta provided his
offensive support.
Marlo Reyes, one of the faster player’s on the Dukhan, contributed another 4 points to show off his presence in the second and third period.
With a 25 points lead, QP Dukhan started to celebrate a sure win. The team, their partisan supporters all from Dukhan, enjoyed the celebration of another championship crown in this Doha based tournament under the guidance of
their seasoned basketball mentor and coach Alex Amo. Dukhan still managed this win without some of their key
players, point guard Jojo Macasa, shooting guard Wilgie Carino and Cris Lapitan who are still on leave.
Individual Scorers (67): Oscar Butial 22, Tito Cabacungan 16, Jessie Macasa 12, Elmer Medina 6, Efren Ambrocio 4,
Alain Borja 4, Chris Casas 4, Marlo Reyes 4, Joel delos Santos 2, Alain Borja 4 points and Rudy Ancheta-n/s.
We would like to express our sincere thanks again to Dukhan Operations Management for their endless support.
Three handy cleaning tips this week—by Mrs. J Cloth

Glass: Mix 1/4 cup vinegar with 1 quart of water in a spray bottle.
Spray on glass and wipe clean with old newspaper or a lint-free
cloth.

Countertops and bathroom tile: Mix 2 parts vinegar and 1 part baking soda with 4 parts water. Apply with a sponge, scour, and wipe
away.

Floors: Mix 4 cups of white distilled vinegar with about a gallon of
hot water. If desired, add a few drops of pure peppermint or lemon
oil for a pleasant scent. After damp mopping the floors, the smell
of vinegar will dissipate quickly, leaving behind only the scent of the
oil.
