You will not receive your Exhibitors Pass through the post because they will
be delivered to you through your on-line account. You will be informed by an
e-mail when your passes are ready, which will be approximately two weeks
before the show.
The e-mail will include details on how to print your Exhibitors Pass and any
other Show Information. You must print your Exhibitors Pass and take it to
the show.
Exhibitors making postal entries will receive their Exhibitors Passes by Post in
the usual way.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
REGARDING BENCHING & IDENTIFICATION OF DOGS
It is a Kennel Club requirement that exhibitors display the exhibit/bench number on their crate, cage or
container at all times. This is particularly important when cages etc. are not on benches, and at unbenched
shows.
Each exhibitor is responsible for providing their own crate or cage identification and should note that the
original exhibit/bench number card, as provided by the show society, must not be used for this purpose.
It is important to be able to contact exhibitors and identify dogs where a dog may be in distress or where the
crate might be blocking a gangway.
At benched shows soft crates may only be put on benches if they are the appropriate size for both the dog and
the bench, and the crate can be securely attached to the bench.
Both of these points have been introduced with the safety of all in mind, but most importantly that of the dog,
and to minimise potential incidents and injuries.
The Kennel Club would also take this opportunity to remind exhibitors that Show Regulation F(1).17 requires
that dogs should be present on their benches at all times except when being judged, prepared for exhibition
or exercised.

• IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR EXHIBITORS •
• No unentered dogs are allowed in the Hall
• A removal order for each dog must be shown at the gate when leaving the showground.
These can be collected from the Chief Steward's Office for any unentered dogs.
• All entry enquiries prior to the Show will be dealt with by Fosse Data Systems Ltd (Tel:
01788 860960 — E-mail: [email protected]).
• Withheld telephone calls made to the Secretary will NOT be answered.
• No changes to entries can be made without the change(s) being confirmed in writing.
• Breakfast will be available in the Cafeteria from 8.00 am each morning.
• Disabled Parking: Please make sure you have a current Disabled Badge with a
photograph of the person in the car. In 2013 we had to find space for 596 pre-ordered
Disabled Car Parking spaces.
• Order of Judging: Each breed is allocated a "not before time" and will not begin before
then.
• Wheelie Bins are provided at an extra expense in the Car Park - please make use of
these and clean up after your dog(s).
• It is illegal to smoke in the venue.
• Please make sure your puppy is eligible for entry i.e. it must be born on or before 23rd
April 2014.
• Your coloured Car Park pass is to provide parking as near to your benching as
possible.
EYE TESTING SESSIONS
Mrs Lorna Newman BVM& S-Cert V Ophthal MRCVS will be holding eye testing
sessions under the BVA/KC/ISDS scheme from 10.00 am - 2.00 pm each day. No
appointment necessary.
Please remember to bring along the dog's KC registration form.
Please note that as these sessions are held within the precincts of the show, only dogs
entered at the show (including Not for Competition) may be tested.

The Breeders’ Competition offers the following Awards:
Best Breeder in Breed/AVNSC classes 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Best Breeder in Group 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th

The following requirements apply to entries for these awards:
1. BreederswishingtoenterthecompetitionshouldfirstpurchaseaBreedersCompetitionRecord
Book from the Kennel Club or from the show secretary.
2. The Breeder enters for the award in his/her name and is responsible for arranging which
exhibits form their breeder group, or team.
3. The Breeder must complete the Record Book accurately with all necessary details before
presenting it to the show organisers.
4. The Breeder is responsible for obtaining the necessary authority to compete from the show
organisers(ordesignatedofficialsuchastheRingSteward)tocompetefortheaward.
5. The Breeder’s team must consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of four dogs of the
same breed, all of which must be entered in a class at the show.
6. A Breeder may enter more than one team per show.
7. All dogs must have the same registered breeder.
8. The ‘beaten dog’ rule will NOT apply.
9. BestBreederinBreedandBestBreederinAVNSCClassesgoesthroughtoaBestBreederin
Group award.
10. Breeders acquire points in competition over a calendar year as follows:

The Breeders who have amassed a minimum of 25 points over a calendar year will qualify for the
Final/Semi-Finalinthefollowingyear.Itisnotarequirementtowithdrawfromthecompetitionupon
reaching 25 points. At the end of the competition year in question, Breeders should forward their
record books to the Canine Activities Department at the Kennel Club which will advise whether they
havequalifiedfortheCruftsFinal.

• RULES and REGULATIONS •
1. The Show will open at 7.30 am each day.
2. Dogs will be received at any time but it is the exhibitor's responsibility to ensure exhibits are available for judging when
required.
3. Judging in all rings will commence at 9.00 am each day.
4. Exhibits may be removed from the Show after their judging has been completed. Exhibits may not be removed any earlier
unless by written order of the Veterinary Surgeon or of the Show Management and then only in very exceptional and
unforeseen circumstances which must be reported to the Kennel Club. The Show will close half an hour after all judging has
been completed at which time dogs must be removed.
5. The use of cooking stoves in the proximity of tenting and benching areas is forbidden except as authorised by the Show
management.
6. Entry Fees: Breed with Challenge Certificates: First entry per dog £22.00. Breeds without Challenge Certificates: First Entry
per dog £12.00. Second and all subsequent entries with the same dog £3.00. Not for Competition: £12.00 per dog. Catalogues:
£4.00 pre-paid with entry (£4.50 on the day). Caravans/Motorhomes: £25.00 from Tuesday, 21st to Monday, 27th October
2014. Please Note: There will be an additional charge of £2.00 for each first entry made on-line after midnight on
Monday, 8th September 2014. FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED ONCE AN ENTRY HAS BEEN MADE.
7. Prize Money is on offer as detailed in the classification.
8. The committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries.
9. Puppies under six calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are not eligible for exhibition.
10. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden.
11. Best Puppy in Show: There will be NO competition for Best Puppy in Show.
12. Best in Show: The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and is unbeaten by any other dog exhibited at the
same Show.
Definition of a High Profile Breed. A breed from time to time designated by the General Committee as requiring particular
monitoring by reason of visible condition(s) which may cause health or welfare concerns. The list of designated High Profile
Breeds is kept under regular review.
a. Shows Judged on the Group System: (Definition; Shows judged on the Group System includes classes for breeds within more than
one Group, as defined in Kennel Club Regulation B(A); and requires a judge to declare a Best of each Group after which the
exhibits so declared will compete for the award of Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show.)
1) Best of Breed: Where a breed is separately classified a Best of Breed may be declared but only from those dogs which have
received a first prize in a breed class at the show. Where separate classes are provided for each sex of a breed a Best of each
Sex must be declared.
NOTE: The Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified award relevant to a High Profile Breed will not be
confirmed until the dog has passed an examination by the General and Group Championship Show Veterinary Surgeon.
2) Best of Group: Best of Group and subsequent Group placings must be selected from: a) The Best of Breed winners in each group provided that they are unbeaten winning dogs.
b) The best unbeaten winning dog from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each group or on each day.
NOTE: The dog declared Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified from a breed designated by the Kennel Club as a
High Profile Breed is not eligible to compete in the Group competition unless it has passed an examination by the Show’s Veterinary
Surgeon. If the dog fails to pass the examination it is ineligible to compete in the relevant Group.
3) Best in Show: Best in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners provided they are unbeaten. Reserve Best in
Show must be selected from the remaining Group winners following the selection of Best in Show.
b. Withdrawal from other Competition: Dogs which become eligible for Best of Group and Best in Show maybe withdrawn
from all other competition other than breed classes and Best of Breed prior to the competition for Best of Group or
Best in Show as appropriate in order to remain unbeaten. A dog beaten in competition for Best of Group or Best in Show
may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs declared Best in Show and
Reserve Best in Show however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Dogs may be withdrawn from Any
Variety Classes when judged before Breed Classes.
c. Proviso: For the purposes of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and
Team or a Special Award confined to a single breed, will not be considered to be beaten dogs.
13. Exhibits will not be admitted to Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes has elapsed since the announcement
that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by previous judging not being completed on
time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management.
14. No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the General Committee of the Kennel Club, which
will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.
15. All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (B) - Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.
16. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the
show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/
competitor.
17. Dogs in Cars on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following
guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.
• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route,
and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.

• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.
• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to
drink.
• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.
• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.
• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available
to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.
• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time.
Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results.
Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY
TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. Anyone
whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s)
are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel
Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules
and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to
refuse any entry.
18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must
be Kennel Club registered.
19. The Show will be held under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. All rules, definitions or instructions of the nature of Rules
and Regulations printed for convenience in other parts of this Schedule shall be deemed to be regulations of the Show and
shall have the same effect as if they formed part of these Regulations.
20. Returned cheques: Exhibitors whose cheques are returned by their bank for any reason will be required to settle the
amounts due together with a £20.00 surcharge to cover administration and bank charges. This includes unpaid credit
card amounts.
21. Exclusion of Dogs: The Show Management may exclude or remove any dog which, in their opinion or that of the Judge, is
not in a fit state for exhibition.
22. Safety of Dogs: The Committee will not be responsible for the loss, detention of, or damage to any dog, person or property
whether arising from accident, or any other cause whatever, or from any act or omission of itself, its officers, agents, servants
or others or the damage done by the exhibitor to any person or property.
23. Gangways: Gangways must be kept clear at all times. Any obstructions, including dog boxes, left in gangways will be removed
by the Show Management.
24. Fouling: Any owner, competitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog is required to remove as soon as possible any
fouling caused by their dog(s) at any Kennel Club licensed show within the licensed venue and within the environs of that
event including car and caravan parks and approaches.
25. Acknowledgement of Entries: If acknowledgement of entries is required, an addressed, stamped card with "Receipt" written
on the reverse should be enclosed for the Secretary's signature.
26. The owner, exhibitor, handler or other person in charge of a dog at Kennel Club licensed events must at all times ensure
that the dog is kept under proper control whilst at the licensed venue, including its environs, car and caravan parks and
approaches. This Regulation applies before (at any time during the set up period at the venue), during the event and afterwards
(at any time during the breakdown of the event).
27. A dog may be disqualified by the General Committee from any award, whether an objection has been lodged or not, if proved
amongst other things to have been: a) registered or recorded as having been bred by the scheduled Judge. This shall not apply
to a Judge appointed in an emergency; b) exhibited without payment of appropriate entry fees.
28. Every exhibitor shall ensure that whilst the dog is being exhibited, its handler shall display the correct ring number.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO RIGHTS — The Organisers would like to bring the regulation on photography and filming
to the attention of exhibitors, trade stands, press and visitors. It is a condition of all those attending the event that no filming or
other form of recording may be taken or made at the venue without express written permission of the Organisers. The taking
of photographs in the show venue for sale or reward is strictly prohibited except with the written permission of the Organisers.
Press accredited photographers are provided with permission to take photographs ONLY for use in newspapers, magazines and
internet sites – this is for news purposes only. There is no objection to the general public taking photographs of general views of
the Show, provided that these are for private use. Specific dogs may be photographed only with the approval of the exhibitor. No
photography or filming is permitted in breed judging rings whilst judging is actually taking place. However, judges may allow it to
happen at the end of classes or after the Challenge Certificate is awarded. Filming and flash photography is allowed from outside
the ring at all times unless the operation of the camera is actually affecting exhibits. However, if a powerful flash unit is used or it
is clear that exhibits are being affected, a ring steward or the judge is empowered to stop the person concerned.
• DEFINITIONS OF CLASSES •
In the following definitions, a Challenge Certificate includes any Show award that counts towards the title of Champion under the Rules
of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club. Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where Challenge Certificates
are not on offer shall be counted as wins at Open Shows. In the case of a dog owned in partnership and entered in Members' classes
or competing for Members' Specials each partner must at the time of entry be a member of the Society. In estimating the number
of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing of entries shall be counted when entering for
any class, i.e. Monday, 1st September 2014.

Wins in Variety classes do not count for entry in Breed classes but when entering for Variety classes, wins in both Breed and Variety
classes must be counted. A First Prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value. A dog is not eligible for entry in Variety
Classes (excluding AVNSC Classes) unless also entered and subsequently exhibited in a Breed class where such a class is provided
for which it is eligible. Exemptions from this Regulation: (1) A puppy, unless a class for dogs under twelve months of age for which it is eligible is provided for the breed.
(2) A dog in Any Variety Field Trial or Working Trial Class.
(3) A dog in Any Variety Veteran Class.
(4) A dog in Any Variety Champion Class.
(5) A dog which is withdrawn from exhibition in breed classes as a result of the appointment of an emergency judge.
(6) A dog in YKC Stakes Classes.
(7) A dog in Good Citizen Scheme Classes.
(8) Exhibits bred by the scheduled breed Judge.
If an exhibitor reports before the judging of a class or classes that a dog has been entered which is ineligible, the exhibitor may choose
one of the following options:
(1) Withdrawal
The dog may be withdrawn from competition subject to the conditions of Regulations 9(j) and 20.
(2) Transfer
a) If a dog is ineligible for a class or classes as regards its breed, colour, sex, weight or height the Show Secretary shall
transfer it to the equivalent class or classes for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height and, in the event of
there being no equivalent class, Minor Puppy and Puppy excepted, to the Open class for the correct breed, colour, sex,
weight or height.
b) If an exhibit is entered incorrectly in a Minor Puppy class, Puppy class or Junior class, which is over age but under twelve
calendar months of age, eighteen calendar months of age or twenty four calendar months of age respectively, the Show
Secretary shall transfer the exhibit to the Puppy class, Junior class or Yearling class respectively for the correct breed,
colour, sex, weight or height and in the event of there being no Puppy, Junior or Yearling class to the Open class for
the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.
c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the Open class for the correct breed, colour,
sex, weight or height.
d) If an exhibit arrives late and misses a class, even if it is the only class in which the dog is entered, the dog may not be
transferred to any other class.
MINOR PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding nine calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.
PUPPY For dogs of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.
JUNIOR For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the first day of the Show.
YEARLING For dogs of twelve and not exceeding twenty four months of age on the first day of the Show.
POST GRADUATE For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or 5 or more First Prizes at Championship Shows in
Post Graduate, Minor Limit, Mid Limit, Limit and Open classes, whether restricted or not where Challenge Certificates were
offered for the breed.
LIMIT For dogs which have not become show Champions under Kennel Club Regulations or under the rules of any governing body
recognised by the Kennel Club or won 7 or more First Prizes in all at Championship Shows in Limit and Open classes, confined
to the breed, whether restricted or not, at Shows where Challenge Certificates were offered for the breed.
OPEN For all dogs of the breeds for which the class is provided and eligible for entry at the Show.
GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME CLASS For dogs that have achieved their GCDS Bronze Award Certificate or above.
IMPORTED REGISTER For breeds confined to the Imported Breeds Register and only when an Interim Breed Standard has
been published by the Kennel Club. Such breeds may be exhibited in this class only, and are ineligible for any other competition
whatsoever.
ANY VARIETY NOT SEPARATELY CLASSIFIED For breeds of dog for which no separate breed classes are scheduled.
PURINA PRO PLAN/DOG WORLD PUPPY STAKES Open to all puppies of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months
of age on the first day of the Show. Dogs which have already qualified for the Purina Pro Plan/Dog World Pup of the Year final
are not eligible to compete.
FOSSE DATA SYSTEMS JUNIOR STAKES For dogs of six and not exceeding eighteen calendar months of age on the first
day of the Show.
EUKANUBA CHAMPION STAKES For dogs which have been confirmed a Champion or Show Champion. A dog will not be
eligible for entry in this class if it has already won a similar class for the same event in 2014. Dogs entered in this class need not
be entered in a breed class.
LESLIE PAGE MEMORIAL VETERAN STAKES For dogs of not less than seven years of age on the first day of the Show.
ADVISORY NOTICE
NOT FOR COMPETITION Societies may at their discretion, accept Not for Competition entries. Societies may accept such
entries from breeds of dog not included within the title of the Society and at Shows held over more than one day, such entries
may be accepted on any day from any breed.

Regulations for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition F
(Annex B)
1. These Regulations must be observed when a dog is prepared for exhibition and/or exhibited
at any Kennel Club Licensed event. Objections may be referred to the General Committee
for disciplinary action under these Show Regulations and/or for disciplinary action under
Kennel Club Rule A 42.
a) A dog found to have been exhibited in breach of these Regulations will automatically be
disqualified from exhibition at the show and from any award gained thereat.
b) Unless the exhibitor provides a satisfactory explanation for the dog being exhibited in
breach of these Regulations then he/she may be subject to further penalties of either a
fine or as listed under Rule A 42.
2. a) No substance which alters the natural colour, texture or body of the coat may be present
in the dog's coat for any purpose at any time during the Show. No substance which alters
the natural colour of any external part of the dog may be present on the dog for any
purpose at any time during the Show.
b) Any other substance (other than water) which may be used in the preparation of a dog
for exhibition must not be allowed to remain in the coat or on any other part of the dog
at the time of exhibition.
3. No act or operation which alters the natural conformation of a dog or any part thereof may
be performed except:
a) Operations certified to the satisfaction of the General Committee.
b) The removal of dew claws of any breed.
c) Operations to prevent breeding provided that such operations are notified to the Kennel
Club before neutered dogs are shown.
Nor must anything be done calculated in the opinion of the General Committee to
deceive.
4. The General Committee without previous notice may order an examination of any dog or
dogs at any Show. Any examination thus ordered will be made by a person having executive
authority who shall have a written directive from the Kennel Club in their possession. Samples
may be taken for further examination and analysis.
5. An individual has the right to lodge an objection to a dog only if he/she is the owner or
handler of a dog competing in the same breed or class. An objection may, however, be
lodged by an official of the Show or by anyone so deputed by the Kennel Club. It will be the
responsibility of the individual who lodges the objection or the official (as appropriate) to
substantiate the grounds for the objection. The Kennel Club will substantiate the grounds
for an objection made on its behalf.
6. Any objection by an individual related to an infringement of these Regulations must be
made in writing to the Show Secretary at his/her office before the close of the Show and
the individual must produce evidence of identity at the time of lodging the complaint.
