Friday 7th November 2014 09:00 - 14:30 (plus optional afternoon sessions)
Westminster Conference Centre, 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET
European Investment Bank
The EIB is the European Union’s bank. It is the only bank completely owned by and
representing the interests of the European Union Member States. It works closely with other
EU institutions to implement EU policy.
As the largest multilateral borrower and lender by volume, the EIB provides finance and
expertise for sound and sustainable investment projects which contribute to furthering EU
policy objectives. Approximately 90% of their activity is focused on Europe but they also
support the EU’s external development policies with some 7 billion Euro of investments per year.
Overview
In collaboration with the European Investment Bank (EIB), UK Department for International
Development (DFID), and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) Aid-Funded Business Service Team
(AFBS), this event will provide an overview of the European Investment Bank’s activities
outside the European Union. The conference will include keynotes, followed by operational
speakers from the EIB who will present opportunities for investment projects and for the
provision of consultancy services and technical assistance. After the networking lunch,
representatives from EIB, DFID, and UKTI will be available for 15-minute one-to-one
meetings. Delegates are encouraged to stay and continue to network.
Who should attend ?
Businesses, consultancies, suppliers of goods and services as well as potential co-investors who are
looking for business opportunities with the European Investment Bank, should attend this event to
learn more about international development work, particularly with the EIB and DFID.
